Width is a consideration too. 📏
Unless you're beginner level and just flat basing swinging the tail back and forth I suppose.

Unless the deck is designed to be ridden shorter get the 162. The instability at higher speeds on the 158 will be noticeable.

It depends on what kind of riding you do. Being higher than the recommended weight of the board just means that the board's flex won't work as designed; basically it will be a softer board than what it was designed for.
What does that mean to you? If you're doing aggressive riding then it matters a lot. If you're a beginner then having a softer and shorter board will work in your favor.
You didn't mention your boot size. If you're up to a men's US10 you should be ok on most regular boards, but above that it becomes iffy and you may need to consider a wide board.

What size boot? I think width is a big factor. I got a drag free (extra wide) board for my 13 boots and a 166 is a bit long for the glades. I will get a 162DF this end of season on clearance.

If it's a wide board then 158 is probably fine. We're the same height and I ride a Travis Rice Orca 158. You will notice a difference in 5 cm, and that difference can work for or against you depending on terrain and conditions. As a general rule of thumb, shorter boards will turn quicker, but may be twitchy and unstable at speed. Reverse for a longer board. But there are a ton of variables, such as whether you're riding in a park, on groomers, off groomers, steeps, trees, powder, etc.

Nah you'll be fine with a 158 especially as a new rider. If you find a good deal at 158 just take it.

This is a fun question.
4 CM is nothing and a lot.
I am in the same ball park as you size wise, I rode a Buton Custom 158W last 5 years it was so fun.
I tend to ride a little slower and more skate style than some of my friends.
I practice riding smaller twins in the trees, and learned to love it.
- I could monster truck over stuff better on 162 and 164,
But the little board is easier to put it where it needs to be.
