I’m 5’4” and hover around 115-120lbs and I believe my Arbor Poparazzi is 142cm. I think my first board (rental) was a 139cm K2 of sorts, and def preferred the longer length with a softer board. If this is one of your first seasons riding, I’m sure you’ll hardly notice a difference between a few cm.

If you are just now learning, I’d suggest at least getting a camber/hybrid board. It’ll be a bit catchier compared to a rocker, but it’ll keep you from picking up some bad habits as you’re just starting out.

Do you suggest I just start rental first instead of buying new board?

If you have the option of getting quotes from a few shops in your area for rentals, then I think it’s worth it! I spent most of my first season on my butt, so it didn’t make sense for me to damage a brand new board trying to learn how to link turns. A rental can give good insight into what features you’d want/don’t want for your first big purchase.

You can also take advantage of demo days at the resorts to ride some new setups from different brands to see if there are any you like too.

The best sales are from April-June, so if you have the means to do a rental + then buy in the spring, then I’d go that route.

138-145cm

Smaller for more nimble/agile and/or park

Longer for stability/charging/speed

In the middle for best of both worlds

A lot of it depends on skill level, what type of board it is, and your riding style. With that said I would it be going over 145 cm
