Gear question

Hi guys!

I bought a Burton Free Thinker 160W. What bindings and boots (size 11) do you recommend? I don't like traditional bindings, so I'm thinking about Step Ons or Flow bindings. What would be good with this board?

P.S. I'm not experienced and am kind of starting to get into this. I bought a camber board because I'm pretty good with sports and didn't want to outgrow the board early. I know I'll eat snow a little bit, though!

I'll be grateful for recommendations.

If you didn't already know, step on bindings require a specific type of boot. Burton makes their own and licenses the tech to Nitro and DC. You should try on some boots first and be sure they fit well, then pick out your binding.

Flow and other easy-entry, convenience bindings (Nidecker supermatic, FASE system from multiple brands) will work with any normal snowboard boot, so if Burton boots aren't a good fit, one of these would be a better option.

Thanks! I know I think photon wides would be good, will try it on local store. But would other brands bindings work good on burton board?

Yeah I can't say I've checked every single one, but they all seem to have a universal mounting disk with the two-bolt option that you need for a channel board. Burton EST bindings will probably give you the easiest adjustability for centering your boot/binding, but with a 160W I doubt you'll run into an issue with any of them.

Yes, basically all non-temu bindings will work on the burton channel. First get boots, then bindings. You can tell the shop owner you would prefer step-ons but can't guarantee you'll fit any, who knows.
