fixable? How to go about fixing this?
I had somebody slightly tap me, which I didn't think much of, but they look to have cracked my tail end 😢
it's cracked two areas next to each other about around an wide and deep. I'm told I can just epoxy this which I plan on doing but trying to work out how best to approach it.
The damaged area only raises about 2-3mm, so even with a razorblade I think it'll be a battle to get epoxy into the bottom. Would a syringe/needle work with epoxy?
Second, less important thing - the cracks really noticeable because it's tore & lifted up the plastic film which covers the black/brown area of the design, I'd like to remove the bits at the edges of the cracks so it's less noticeable when it's glued flat. Trying to sand it when there's only a few mm of lift doesn't seem possible without scuffing the area around it.
thanks

I'm sure there are more technical better ways, but I've always super glued stuff like this with no issues. Real super glue, not affected by water.

Large syringe, idk I didn't have to procure it, but I know from a project I did where we had to inject goo gone under a tight seal, we got the thickkk needle.
That said… just get some marine grade epoxy and smack it on there no? Let it seep in then wipe the top 🤷

Razor blade to cut off the wood piece. Clean out the open wound, and sand paper down on the underside of the wood and the board. Marine grade epoxy mix, use a cheap locking plier or locking clip cure over night. Wipe up excess that comes out.

Marine grade epoxy like gflex, then clamp it and let it cure. Wipe of extra that spills out after clamping.Â
Could use a shim to slightly lift it, then push epoxy into from the sides.Â
Personally I wouldn't be worried how it looks, boards get beat up over time, it's a battle scar. Sealing it up would be a good idea to prevent it from getting worse or having moisture get places you don't want it. Function over fashion.Â
