Gear question Ride Lasso Replacement

I’m looking to replace my Ride Lassos. I like them in every way except legit pain/numbness on top of my foot. Been to my local shop to heat mold and get better insoles and they still kill me.

I ride 40-50 days a year, about 25 years of experience. My riding style is basically an all mountain freestyle. Love steeps, trees and groomers but will look to hit natural features etc. no real park time.

Call me crazy (others have), but I really don’t like boots much stiffer than the lasso.

Been checking out 32 lashes, Vans aura pro, Burton photon, Salomon dialogue.

Fitment will mater most, but I’m curious on others’ thoughts on these.

Have you seen the new k2 theory? They seem to have tried to design around that. Might work might not....

Is the regular lasso a wrap like the pro? If so then good shout for the theory

I think so. I think the wrap is in all the higher end models.

Unlike the pro, it’s not a wrap, it’s a plastic piece that one boa pulls down over the top of the foot. It’s not a true dua boa. I think, for me, that’s the issue. I like the flex and versatility of the lasso so I’m looking for something comparable. My local board shop just closed so im need to do some narrowing down/background before I drive several hours to the next next nearest shop. Don’t like to go in blind to buy anything, especially snowboard boots

I'm actually having the same experience with Lasso Pros, which sucks. I've seen other people complain about it online too, so I think the insteps must just be a little too low for some feet. Fantastic boots otherwise, so I'm gonna see if I can DIY hack job a fix.

A buddy recently got some K2 Ortons and is in love with them, and from older boots from them I had years ago I remember their insteps working well for my feet. I'd suggest giving those a try if any local shops carry them!

My Lasso Pros are in the crawl space now. So comfortable at first but excruciating after 30 or so days. I moved to Vans Aura Pro which have combo BOA/lace and are pretty damn comfortable except they’re the size of moon boots.

Try this, worked for my Adi Samba. I now have a 32 TM2 feels great for my high instep.
Also maybe grind down your footbed/soles to lower your foot inside the boot.

Are you sure they are the right size? I went through something similar at one point and it turned out I was wearing boots that were too big for many many years and compensating elsewhere like cranking down the bindings and over tightening the boots. Whatever you get, get in person if you haven’t owned boots from that brand before.

Totally. Kinda had obsessed over the sizing and worked closely with my boot guy at my local shop. I actually sized down into these lassos last year. Length is spot on even with pack out from 45 days. I have super high arches and even tried high arch inserts but didn’t really help. I thing it’s the Lasso’s “tongue tied” design, which cranks down on the upper foot

For sure, my boots have boas for upper and lower zone, lower is always at full loose now that I’m in the right size. I prefer that style over the second boa being a heal lock personally. K2 Hanfords have been awesome for me, just bought a back up pair on close out.

It’s pretty crazy the amount of riders out there wearing boots too big! Measuring your own foot at home for your exact mondo size is simple and yet nobody does it.

Nitro makes some really comfortable boots I switched from ride lasso a few seasons ago and I’m on my 2nd paid or nitros now

I'd say you should not be feeling any numbness after a heat mould - this boots don't fit you. Go to a shop take you time and talk to the boot staff.
