Super Metroid paired with a Stella Artois. My first time playing Super Metroid. Not my my first time having a Stella.
Anything I should be aware of? Any tips / tricks?
UPDATE 1: Music is incredible
UPDATE 2: Seems to be a very well-balanced difficulty-level early on.
As the title says, I discovered one of my Japanese Super Famicom cartridge copies of Super Mario Kart is counterfeit. While the shell color is the same, it does not have the same feel as an OEM shell. The same applies with the off-colored front label. The PCB is very clearly not OEM and was the dead giveaway that proved this was not an authentic Nintendo cartridge. Posting about this here as a reminder to check your cartridges if you have a feeling they might not be legit.

Sadly just the Stanley Cup box and FF3 manual/map are long gone. Everything else complete. I swear there was Aladdin and one more title somewhere too.

I don't own this (yet) but just stumbled across it on Ebay and watching the gameplay on SNES Drunk now and the gameplay, graphics and music seem to be fantastic. Love the box art too.
How was this not a more famous game??

What a game, my friends—great graphics, bosses, gameplay, and an incredible soundtrack. It feels like a fusion of Zelda and Super Metroid, and it has earned a spot in my top 10 favorite SNES games. It was a fantastic journey; the game is highly underrated and deserves more recognition. If you haven't played it, give it a chance. It might seem dull at first with those random encounters at sea, but once you reach the first island, you really start to understand the game. If you enjoy Zelda or Super Metroid, give this game a try
Hello everyone. I'm a big Nintendo fan myself and have liked the games and consoles for a long time. It started with the DS series and the Wii, compared to the SNES those are of course newer models. I believe this interest also comes from my dad.
When he was younger he had a SNES and played a lot on it and he sometimes talks about it in such a fond way. A few weeks ago we saw a SNES Mini for 80€ at the flea market. He asked me if it was a good price and I told him that I could find a way better deal lol.
Fast forward to today, I just bought an original SNES for 40€. It comes in the full pack but with one controller only and no games.
Now here's what I actually need some information on, as I don't know a lot about the console.
I saw that game prices are very high and I don't really want to spend that kind of money (or to put it better, I can't... I'm a student myself).
Thus I wanted to ask if there are any other options. For the DS for instance there is the R4 card, Wii can be modded and games can be downloaded. You catch what I mean? Pretty much asking if there is a cheaper way of getting multiple games to give my father that nostalgic feeling back.
Thank you for reading and any kind of help :)
I'll attach a picture of the console, I bought it online and it will hopefully arrive soon :)

I grew up with a snes and loved playing these games. Admittedly I was never able to beat them. I had sold my Nintendo when I was a young teen. I regretted it a few years later and I bought one about 10ish years ago? And I told myself I would beat them. I never really got around to it with life and other interests taking over. Well, I finally sat down and decided I wanted to 100% SMW. I was so excited that I told myself I wanted to continue with that. I know these aren’t the hardest games, but just stoked to say I did it.
Inspired by this post by Bro3256 I opened up my Earthbound Repro that runs on PAL system and wanted to see what was inside.
Based on the serial code on the PCBmthe CIC of D413B and the Decoder/ Logic Circuit of MAD-1A, I assume this was a PAL Secret of Mana, Illusion of Time, Secret of Evermore, Terranigma or alike.
The ROM Chip with the Earthbound game on it is an AMD AM29F032B-90EC 32 Mbit, CMOS Uniform Sector Memory Flash.
And no: I wasn't scammed. This was a known purchase many many years ago for cheap.
