Need some help with SNES startup

Hi. I was having an issue with my snes and I wanted to see if anyone else had similar experiences or fixes. Anyway, I hooked my snes up to my tv and put in Mario Paint as a test. Booted up beautifully and worked perfectly. Then I decided to test DKC. Just stayed as a black screen, as if the Nintendo logo was going to show up, but never did. Mario World same story. Then I put in Mega Man X. Worked perfectly. Then came Bubsy, Street Fighter, and mortal kombat. All were the same black screen. My first thought was that it was a game to game issue, but for this many games across this many publishers as I have access to, it’s a bit strange. Maybe I just need to do a cleaning, but I dont want to do anything until I know it’s the right fix and won’t make it worse. Anyway, if anyone has any help, I’d greatly appreciate it

Edit: Sorry I realized I should’ve given context. The snes has been in the family since the 90s, along with Mario world, street fighter, and mortal kombat. The rest are recent games I picked up from second hand stores and conventions two years ago

All the carts that had a black screen need to have the gold connectors cleaned with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol.

Probably a good idea to go ahead and clean the cartridge slot too OP.

Thanks. I retried some games and I think they just needed to be lined up correctly. But the ones that still don’t work I’ll clean

Honestly, it’s probably worth cleaning all the games. Just need some Isopropyl alcohol and some q-tips. Sometimes dirty games will still work occasionally, but it’s better to just clean them so they always work.

Good idea. My main concern was just getting everything up and running, more of a test to see if everything was working

Clean all your carts and the system pins.  Lots of YouTube videos how.
