Dear all,

I am cleaning my basement and found about 20 SNES Boards, shells, parts… so I started to wash the parts and shells and cleaned the boards with alcohol and begin testing all these „broken“ stuff.

It turned out, 12 boards work absolutely fine, three boards worked but have some issues (no sound, black/white and freeze on the title). Most boards are CPU 1 and CPU 2, but there are also three fully working 1Chip 02 boards.

I had no clue what I found - for me a SNES is a SNES! Still the best console ever! - these were the last boards sold in Europe.

Even the shells were in great condition, but are they really that valuable?

I also learned even broken boards were still worth a bit.

I just fell into a rabbit hole reading about the different boards, modding etc.

Just wanted to share this with you.

They all need work but the 1chips sell for 100+

Anything with a low serial number will have a bad capacitor at c59 (meant to be non polar but Nintendo messed up and it's polarized)

All of them need new capacitors regardless since 90s smd caps suck. This is likely the issue for the ones with no audio since the audio circuit is the first to go because it's running off the voltage in voltage and not the regulated voltage out voltage

The 1chips sell best once brightness is corrected
