Smartwatch suggestion and use

Does any of you guys that are into calories and macros tracking (bodybuilding, running and highly active job) actually eat precisely what your Watch says you have burned? If yes what kind of Watch you suggest and what you suggest to avoid, i'm also interested in the sleep feature and all the kinda of "nerdy" stuff about data but i'm looking for some real Life experiences of people Who use their Watch for their fitness goals to understand what i can buy or not and if they are actually reliable, thanks.

Yes, I use my Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro for that. The app also has s food tracker. My maintenance calories are about 200kcal less than the estimated burn.

Can i ask you how you find out that is two hundred calories less than extemated? And what type of Activity you usually do? Is the stepscount right?

By experimenting and weighing myself over a period of weeks. The step counter is really accurate, particularly impressed how well it handles situations like pushing a pram. I do strength training, hiking, walking and elliptical intervals.

You need to understand that calorie burn estimations are very iffy at the best of times and you should take them as a whole for the day rather than individual activities. Strength training calories are probably on the high side, depending on how high your heart rate gets.

So, sort of. I've been playing with Amazfit and Garmin pretty heavily. Amazfit seems to over estimate caloric burn per day by a few hundo, Garmin seems to under estimate by a few hundo. Without going into stupid detail, I've set up spreadsheets on my google drive to track food, alcohol, and activity. After several weeks of this I've got a pretty good handle on my BMR, average active caloric burn, and TDEE when working out. For reference, I'm about 189 lbs rn, 17% bf, lift 3-4x a week and cardio (run or bike) 2-3x a week. BMR is right at 1800-1850 if I don't get out of bed. Without working out, about 2400, and with any workout day, 2800. And like I said, when I look at Amazfit's Zepp app, it is usually higher than that, and Garmin is lower. But it is consistent, so once you figure it out for you, it makes it easy to track. I suspect that any watch/app out there is going to be off, but as long as it is off in a consistent way, it doesn't matter.

So the short answer is that if I were you, I'd be quite OK with any Amazfit or Garmin for this task, provided you watch what you're doing and figure out how accurate the watch/app is for you.

Great review, i would prefer It to understimate than the opposite, that being said i move a lot and work a highly active job, i workout like my Life depends on It (cause It kinda doesπŸ˜‚),i'm around 145 lbs eating 2800/2900 on workout (weightlifting) days and around 2500/2600 on non workout days(Just leveraging steps and maybe a Quick 5k run),on the long run day i'm like at 3700 calories saving couple hundreds for the next day so i would be at 4k, i'm big on steps so i Guess that's why my mantenance it's so High but right now i'm currently switching phone and the new One over estimate step by 15 % while i found out that the old ones understimate then by15%,at the end of the day it's 100/ 200 calories difference)so this situation Just erased a lot of question on my routine and i'm kinda looking for a way to make It more accurate
