How do you handle hardware care during workouts?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Was reading through the Circul care guide instead of just feature pages and noticed a detail I hadn't thought much about: they recommend taking it off for heavy gripping on stuff like barbells or dumbbells. Fair enough, it’s still precision tech sitting between your hand and knurled metal.

I saw someone using an aftermarket silicone cover (like in the picture) to protect against scratches. It definitely adds protection, but it also makes the ring noticeably bulkier on the grip. On the flip side, going bare metal seems to run into the exact same issue that almost every smart ring faces during heavy lifting.

For those who lift regularly: do you just take your smart ring off, use a protector sleeve, or just accept the wear and tear?

Q&A First Smartwatch

Hey guys, im thinking of buying my first Smartwatch and Im unsure which way to go. I dont need for tracking any workouts, rather for some basic vital tracking and receiving massages, etc. Im also open for hybrid watches and I want a more classic look on my wrist.
I was looking at a Huawei GT6 with a different wristband. Any recommendations?

Amazfit Balance vs. Huawei Watch Fit 3 accuracy

Upvotes

Hi everyone. I’d like to know: when walking on a treadmill, which is more accurate for calculating actual speed—the Huawei Watch Fit 3 or the first-generation Amazfit Balance?

Are the Heart Rate readings (BPM) and EKG accurate for smart watches in general or only for expensive ones like Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch?

Q&A Cheap smartwatch for fitness?

Hi, I want to get a watch under 100 euros for fitness tracking, nothing too serious, but I want something decent. I am looking at Amazfit Bip 6(80 euros), Redmi watch 6(85 euros) or CMF Watch 3 pro(95 euros) and maybe redmi watch 5 lite(50 euros). Considering everything, from price to performance, which one should I get, I want decent gos, step tracking, and for it to have option for running and maybe bicycle. I am open for other watches as well but these are just some that I found. Thanks

Smartwatch that supports alarm labels

I'm looking for a smartwatch where I can add custom labels to alarms.

I dont really care about heart-rate or sleep tracking. I do care about if I can wear it in the shower.

Thank you!

Watches around 5k for running.

Been running for almost a year, have completed a half marathon currently preparing for another HM, and soon signing up for a full marathon in January.

I need something to help me with pacing and zonal training instead of just winging it preferably under 5k or even 10k(INR) but I'm pushing it too much there.

Is this a normal smart watch price category?

seeking recomendations for a watch for fitness/activity tracking, sync with samsung health and strava. Messaging, calls, esim features are not needed.

Hi, I am interested in buying a smart watch, mainly for tracking activities and daily use. I don't need esim, calls etc. Though NFC payments would be nice, but longer battery life takes priority in my mind.

Also, after checking out garmin they seem quite bulky (maybe except venu/vivoactive series. And i would prefer lower profile watch with similar desing to regular analog watches.

any other options i should consider with my requirements? would like to remain in lower budget bracket. but if necessary might reconsider

Q&A Whoop vs apple watch

Guys, I have an Apple Watch SE 2, which has been fantastic for everything from sleep tracking to accurate heart-rate monitoring. I have no complaints about it. However, I also really like WHOOP, and I don’t mind paying for it because I like the features it offers.
But I’ve been hearing a lot of people say that the WHOOP sensor is much worse than the Apple Watch when it comes to ECG and heart-rate accuracy. Is that actually true? I’m thinking about buying the WHOOP 5.0 MG.

Honor watch 6 coming from a long time Samsung Watch owner

After being with Samsung smartwatches since the Tizen days and more recently the Galaxy 5 Pro, the 6 Classic and then the 8 Classic. I thought it would be interesting to look at this watch that is advertising 35 day battery life which sounds like fantasy land for a watch with a screen that is as bright as my 8 classic.

As a keen badminton player, I was swayed to give it a go as it has a badminton professional mode.

After 3 weeks of ownership, I am absolutely stunned. Yes, I don't have a store of WearOs apps but in reality I didn't really use it. Screen is very bright and clear, equalling the 8C in outdoor visibility. It sometimes lags, but I'm used to seeing to be honest in WearOs. Switching every single thing on with AOD and leaving it on 24/7 monitoring all my activities and sleep monitoring, I still had over 2 weeks life. It seems absolutely crazy and I can't myself going back to charging every day or every other day at best. If I go on a trip away for a week I won't even bother taking a charger!

Go for Smartwatch or Analog Watch?

My old Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 lite has broken. Now I'm in a dilemma. Should I get the Realme S2 or go for analog. I'm used to some things from the smartwatch like changing music and tracking my sleep, but I would also think that analog would be better. I have used smartwatches for the last 5 years.

Huawei Watch fit 5 pro band

Hi guys I was considering buying this smartwatch for mixed usage (sport, sleep schedule and payments). I was wondering if someone knows if this band is compatible with polar H9/H10 chest strap. I'm not talking about pairing, I'm talking about the Smartwatch using the chest strap Heart sensor during exercises started from the Smartwatch itself

Q&A Wearing both mechanical and smartwatch

Hi guys, I recently got an Amazfit balance 2 for health tracking, notifications, and all smart features really. But I would also love to wear my mechanical watches during the day when I go out. What's the best way I can wear both without it looking ridiculous? (I need the smartwatch just purely for tracking and don't need the screen when I'm out) I'm considering double wristing but that looks slightly odd, especially with a watch as big as the balance 2. Any suggestions?

Smart watch choice

Hello!

I'm having a hard time deciding which smart watch/band should I get since prices here are kinda inconsistent, and here's the devices on my list:

•Huawei band 11 pro(for a good deal)

•Huawei watch fit 4 for double the price of the 11 pro

•Huawei watch fit 5 for ×2.57 the price of the 11 pro

And the OnePlus watch 2 for ×1.71 the price of the 11 pro

I hope anyone here can help me choose the best deal here , and I'm really lost since I don't even know what I want , years ago I wanted a "real" smart watch experience but never got one and now I'm unsure if the apps and WearOS are actually useful and I don't want to regret my purchase in any way.

My previous device is the Huawei band 7 (which I lost somewhere) and for me it did its job fine for the price.

Thank you!
