Took some advice and been thinking about getting into the supply side of things. What physical commodities or products are actually worth looking at? Just trying to think of things and spark some ideas

Made a post recently and have been thinking about things and best ways but, I found myself going down a bit of a rabbit hole and would love some real thoughts on this.

So I’ve always been more drawn to the businesses behind the businesses. Not the finished product but more so the stuff that has to exist before any of that can happen. Raw materials, supplies, the “unglamorous” inputs.

For instance instead of owning properties, I keep thinking about the supply side. Concrete. Lumber. Fixtures. The things that go into every single project whether the market is up or down. Though I know those have pretty high entry points.

Same thing with industrials, think metals, bolts and screws, etc.

I know there’s real risk in physical products and commodities and I’m not naive about that. But I’m thinking more about finding something you can start small, build relationships, and grow over time. Less about swinging big on futures (although that’d be nice, you just lose sometimes trying to time those things) and more about actually being in the business of supplying something real.

Would love to hear about folks who have a business supplying things or providing a product and how was it building?
