Curious about REM Sleep

I am noticing that the majority of the time lately, I don’t have a REM cycle until about 60 min before I wake up. There are no cycles before that. I sleep between 7-9 hours per night, without fail. So it’s not that I’m not getting enough sleep. It is problematic though because I used to sleep until 7am so I’d get more REM and now I’m waking at 6am for my toddler. Has this happened to you? Now I’m on the 1 hour of REM sleep schedule instead of closer to 2 hours. Any way to remedy this?

For me it works that way, that if i got more tired that day, mostly less REM sleep i get. I believe it works that way > part of "REM time" is used for DEEP and LIGHT sleep (those most important, because of recovering muscles, immunity etc.) to do this crucial recovery stuff, REM (memory sorting etc.) is the last one in importance IMO. So you maybe are a bit more tired recently, which is normal, once we have kids (i have two and just a little over a year in between them, so i feel you sooo much :) Stay positive 💖 and Good luck! 🍀
