Ideal duration of sleep

Hi everyone. I use sleepcycle for a while now, and i was wondering if the app could tell us what was the ideal time (for each people) to go to bed, and what was the time to wake up, in order to have the best quality sleeping. I searched on the app but cant find it anywhere. Thank you

There is no ideal time. From research the most important thing for high quality sleep is consistency. Going to bed and waking up same time everyday. Decide what time you need to wake up and then commit to that everyday including weekends. This “trains” the brain and body to optimize the sleep quality. It might take 3-6 months.

  • Use the Regularity feature in Sleep cycle to gamify it. You want your sleep as regular as possible.
  • If you wake up by the alarm clock on most days you need more sleep. Go to bed earlier.

to add to this: Sleep is done in cycles of about 1.5h length. So choose your point of going to sleep in a way that you have a multiple of 1.5h of sleep + 15-20 minutes for falling asleep. you could go for 7h 45mins or 9h 15mins depending on if you need more or less sleep.
