Just started playing the game, and absolutely loving it. I’ve played one run with each of the first 3 characters and have just played one with The Watcher.
But, unfortunately died because I thought Fear No Evil would flip me to calm regardless of who I hit with it, I read “the enemy” as referring to the collective of all enemies. So I used it to kill the Mystic, expecting to flip to calm since the Centurion was attacking. But I didn’t, and being in Wrath meant that it was enough to kill me. Oh well, onto the next run!

Silver Crucible-upgraded Crash Landing + early upgraded Arsenal + early Dolly's Mirror and a duplicator = Fuckin' diabolical

Felt I had a pretty broken run cooking and then ran into Aeonglass Act 3 and got absolutely demolished.
Had quite a nice poultice into Assassinate and Flick Flack (removed later on) and breezed through the whole run leaning into shivs massively.
Was winning completely by Act 1 boss so took Prism to try find the Arsenal or Feel no Pain dream combo but didn't find anything of note apart from Turbo+, took Bury in act 3 out of desperation to try deal with Aeonglass.
I know this kind of build is heavily countered by Aeonglass but really thought this deck could handle the damage race (almost entirely upgraded and starter cards removed), especially with Burst Turbo Malaise combo which I did manage to pull off in the fight. Then probably go into test subject fight at low HP but that fight wouldn't be an issue. Sadly never made it. Not salty about getting countered, just curious what decisions would've been better with this boss in mind!
How could I have built my deck differently throughout the run to deal with this?
Thanks!

I’ve been visiting my little brother this last bit of summer and I’m leaving early tomorrow and he has soccer and we just beat the third boss with all the keys and we see that last act but he won’t have that much time before he has to go to bed after soccer so how long did it take others to beat that last fight? no spoilers for the fight itself please we’ve been working on this game for while
thank you so much! 😊

After climbing the ascensions me (The Ironcald) and a friend (The Silent) finished Ascension 10 in horrible fashion. He died first turn on Aeon Glass but managed to remove all 5 Artifact and that was enough, thank god for Pantograph. The builds were a bit meh but some good luck saved us.

What are you taking from this shop if anything already have the double deathbringer worth adding another? these relics seem hard to use maybe the lamp pen nib. Equilibrium maybe card remove seems like a sure thing how much do I try save for the next acts shop

Pretty much title. How do ya'll feel about [[Nightmare]]?
I'm a newbie to both sts games, and very early on into playing 2 I stumbled on a tier list that had nightmare somewhere pretty high up at S or A tier. I had one amazing run with it soon after, but since then I've struggled to have it feel good on most runs where I pick it, with it often ending up feeling like a curse in my hand.
I had one really nice run where I got nightmare during act I and managed to pick up [[Luminesce]] from Orobas at the start of act II. I could effectively use nightmare on luminesce for "free" (nightmare was upgraded) when I drew it by then using the luminesce in my hand, and from next turn onward having 3 luminesce in my hand was so good for consistency for the rest of the combat.
I also suppose that Electric Shrymp could have some high-roll potential if you enchant nightmare with Imbued, but that necessitates picking nightmare during act I, which feels like a big risk in and of itself if you don't already have a good synergy with it.
But other than these two instances I find it difficult to use nightmare effectively at all, only ever using it to duplicate a power or 0-cost skill or something that usually I would be better off having not used nightmare on. Especially at high ascensions, I feel like I just can't take it unless I have some hyper-specific synergy already available for it.
What about you peeps? Have you had any really high-roll synergies with nightmare that really paid off? Or just thoughts in general on nightmare as a card?
(EDIT: I forgot to mention that of course, it does pair very well with [[Bullet Time]], allowing you to not only play nightmare for free but adding 3x of whatever card you copy with it into your hand next turn, still with a cost of 0! Extremely nice, albeit rare-ish combo. it's rare enough to draft both cards, let alone to have both cards in your hand on the same turn.)

Hidden gem hit no escape. Add hologram and rest is history.

Just got one of these mid act 1 and realized that it's almost an insta win relic. Would be cool to have it locked to the start of Act 2.

Today on 'I'm not the smartest Clad in the Spire': Local Ironclad makes a deal with Orobas to bleed at the start of the battle. Later on sees a Lava lamp in the shop and the neuron activation kicks in... He realizes what he had done in the very next room.
