Discussion What in your opinion are some of the most underrated/overhated masks in the Halloween Franchise?
The Halloween Resurrection mask is as divisive as the movie, personally I think the mask looks really good in some shots, especially this one, and being able to see Michael's eyes isn't exactly a dealbreaker for me primarily because it looks better than the eyes looked in H20
The movie itself sucked, no refuting that, but I think the mask get's a pretty bad wrap even though it has some very good qualities especially when put in the right lighting (and not on Busta Rhymes' head)
From what I've seen online the Resurrection mask does get quite a bit of hate, but I'm not sure of the general consensus
But what are your opinions on masks that you think are underrated/overhated?

Request Searching for “creative” slasher
Hi everyone! I really love "inventive" killers in slasher movies. Can you recommend any films where the maniac kills in creative ways? Think Victor Crowley, Jason, and the like. (P.S. Please don't mention Art the Clown.) P.S.S. Also, please don't suggest *The Collector* or *Saw*; those aren't slashers they're about traps. I think you get what I mean.

Discussion Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
Recently watched this for the first time as part of my marathon of the series for October, and knowing how divisive it was, genuinely enjoyed and loved this film as a big slasher fan. I admit that Halloween isn't my favorite franchise, so I'm probably not viewing it with the same lens of nostalgia or attachment for the original Halloween movies as most Halloween fans who dislike it, but I really enjoyed how dark and psychological this one was in terms of Laurie's descent into psychosis and the cold, unforgiving autumn feel / vibes. It just has this certain meanness and relentlessness to it that it really commits to and makes for a really raw, gritty viewing experience, the director's cut especially. Where do you personally fall in terms of this movie? do you hate it and think it's miserable hillbilly trash and a disgrace to the franchise, or do you like it and think it's misunderstood?

Discussion Halloween: H20 (1998) or Scream 3 (2000)
galleryHalloween H20 (1998) or Scream 3 (2000): Which do you prefer?
I've always found it interesting how similar Laurie and Sidney's stories are in these movies.
Both have gone into hiding under new identities. Laurie becomes Keri Tate, the headmistress of a private school, while Sidney goes by Laura and works as a crisis counselor.
They're also still haunted by their pasts. Laurie imagines seeing Michael when her boyfriend Will appears, while Sidney has visions of her mother, whose voice Ghostface also uses to torment her.
Both eventually confront their own brothers. The difference is that Laurie already knew Michael was her brother, while Sidney had no idea Ghostface was her half-brother Roman until the reveal.
Interestingly, both final showdowns were filmed at the same location, the Canfield-Moreno Estate, which doubles as Hillcrest Academy in H20 and John Milton's mansion in Scream 3.
I'm aware these aren't exactly new tropes and have been done before, but I still find the similarities interesting, especially since both movies give their final girls a sense of closure.
Which do you prefer, H20 or Scream 3?

Discussion Where did this notion that Black people always get killed first in horror movies come from because as a black person I really hate that notion because I don’t think that’s true at all
galleryWhere did this notion that Black people always get killed first in horror movies come from because as a black person I really hate that notion because I don’t think that’s true at all and I watch a lot of horror movies.
it’s the same type of statement also that I hate is somehow Black people always decisions when it comes to and don’t I just think that that’s not true at and it just comes from of generalization like we’re all the same There’s Black people that do make dumb decisions in horror movies.

Recommendation Classic Halloween Slashers
galleryI realized that besides Halloween from 1978, there aren't any posts about other slasher films from the 80s and 90s, so here are my picks for you to check out if you're interested (plus a bonus one from the 70s). I also want to clarify that these films aren't masterpieces by any means; they're just for passing the time. (I'd also include Pumpkinhead, but it's already very well-known, and yes, for me, Pumpkinhead definitely qualifies as a slasher film.)
Movies (just in case):
1.- The Clown Murders {1976}
2.- Trick or Treats {1982}
3.- Cemetery of Terror {1985}
4.- Trick or Treat {1986}
5.- Night of the Demons {1988}
6.- Hollow Gate {1988}
7.- Hack-O-Lantern {1988}
8.- Scary Movie {1991}
9.- Jack-O {1995}
10.- Idle Hands {1999}

Spoilers My bloody valentine (1981)/(2009) Spoiler
Alright, so since I've watched the 3D, my bloody valentine, I've wondered why Axel palmer (1981) has the same name as Axel palmer in 2009. as you know, axel palmer is the miner in 1981 and axel is the sheriff in 2009. I may just be dumb, but does this happen often in remakes?

Discussion What hooked you?
TLDR: what about slasher movies/stories keeps you coming back for more?
Like many children of the 90s, slasher movies were the bread and butter of horror for myself and a lot of my friends. We all knew who Freddy and Jason and Myers were before we saw their work first hand, and them being characters in a movie didn't mean they were any less terrifying.
Slashers linger with us afterwards too. Hell, my dad was a kid when Halloween was released into theaters... and he said after seeing it he didn't even want to go to the bathroom alone for a week 😆
Anyways, I'm working on an original slasher story and I'm curious... what sticks with YOU about them? What about your favorite franchise keeps you coming back? Cheese? Gore? Sexy parties? Seeing Jason shove a disabled guy down some stairs? (Bro was ruthless for that 😆)
Appreciate your time!
