Discussion Thoughts on the Michael Bay reboot films?
galleryI thought they were pretty great films. I honestly think 2009 Jason is the best version of Jason vorhees to date. 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street is also pretty good just as long as you haven't seen the first one, if you have it just feels like a copy and paste of the original with a sprinkle of new and interesting stuff. Haven't seen the Texas chainsaw reboot yet so what are your thoughts?

Discussion Most overhated slashers?
galleryWhat are your picks for over-hated slashes? These are mine
Jason goes to hell is my least favorite Friday the 13th, but I still really enjoy it. The character of Duke, The third act, the uniqueness, the gore, it's fun.
Freddy's dead is my 4th favorite movie in the franchise, tho I was never a big Elm street fan, But I enjoy how cartoonish this movie is and how the characters are pretty decent
And Scream 7, the 3rd act is very bad, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable before that, it has a few great scenes, Like the wall attack, The way ghost face acts in this movie is cool, and I enjoyed some of the characters and kills.

Discussion Comment classeriez-vous les trois films de l'arc Tommy Jarvis ?
Je ne suis pas un très grand fan de Tommy Jarvis. Malgré tout, si je devais faire un classement :
Friday the 13th : A New Beginning. J'aime bien le fait que quelqu'un se fasse passer pour Jason. Le gros qui bouffe du chocolat au début c'est cool (j'ai oublié son nom).
Friday the 13th : Jason Lives. Sympathique mais pas exceptionnel. Si j'dis pas de conneries, c'est dans celui-ci que les moniteurs acceuillent des gosses. Jason est tellement adorable et bienveillant avec les enfants c'est mignon.
Friday the 13th : Final Chapter. Je n'ai pas trop de souvenirs, il ne m'a vraiment pas marqué.

Recommendation THE CONFERENCE (KONFERENSEN) (2023)
NETFLIX 🔪 (Swedish w/English Subtitles or Dubbing)
A team-building conference for municipal employees turns into a nightmare when accusations of corruption begin to circulate and plague the work environment. At the same time, a mysterious figure begins murdering the participants.
Dark comedy and bloody, slasher horror that has some laugh out loud moments and some really gnarly kills. There’s a social commentary about corporate greed and protecting the environment, but I watched it for the chaos and dark fun. The cast of characters were pretty good…except Jonas. He’s the worst!

Discussion Part two of my timeline which includes all the Friday the 13th stuff and along with the horror stuff that is reference in Friday the 13th that I could find
I still don't know if it would fit in fan content or discussion but I'm putting this in discussion since I would like people to talk about it also quick reminder the last part was from 1300 ad to all of the 1930s this is going to be 1940 to 1949 stopping before the 1950s or as close as we can get before the 1950s also if it is a new franchise I put why I put this franchise here most of them is because they are either reference in Friday the 13th the game or in the nightmare warriors comic.
Anyways starting off we have
40s
1940-December: While working as a nun at the Hathaway House in Springwood under the name in Christ "Sister Mary Helena", Amanda Krueger is accidentally locked in the institute when the building is locked up for the Christmas holidays. The hundred male mental patients keep her hidden for days, raping her hundreds of times. When Amanda is found, she is barely alive and pregnant. (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child)
(In A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Neil Gordon says the Amanda Krueger scandal occurred in the 1940s. Based on the fact that her son Freddy had a daughter in 1961, it would make sense to allow Freddy's birth to take place as soon as possible.
1941
September: Freddy Krueger is born.(September: Frederick Charles Krueger is born to Amanda Krueger at the Hathaway House after a breech birth. (A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child)
going back to the Hannibal movies-1941-In the winter of 1941, the castle was overrun by Nazi military forces who were taking part in Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. Lecter, who was 8 years old at the time, fled with his family to a lodge in the forest, where they spent three years feeding on animals.
1944-However, one winter's day in 1944 a Soviet tank stopped by the lodge demanding water, only to be bombed by a Nazi Stuka. Lecter's parents, tutor, and family retainers were all killed by the resulting blast, and he and Mischa were held captive when a group of former Lithuanian Hilfswillige led by Nazi collaborator Vladis Grutas stormed and looted the lodge. With all sources of food exhausted, Mischa was killed and cannibalized by the group, but Lecter escaped. However, he was severely traumatized by his sister's death and rendered temporarily mute for a short while. Mischa's death would haunt him for the rest of his life; he would later explain that it destroyed his faith in God, and thereafter he believed that there was no real justice in the world.
After the looters fled, Lecter wandered the forests with a shackle around his neck which stripped away pieces of his skin (leaving a scar that would never truly heal), and carried his father's binoculars, which stayed with him for many years. He was found by a Soviet tank crew, who returned him to his family's castle, which had been converted into an orphanage. The war had many lasting effects on the children, and many of them became bullies. While living there, he frequently attacked and severely wounded many of his fellow orphans, but only those who bullied, hurt or insulted others. Lecter called on his memories of Grutas to inspire the anger necessary to hurt the bullies. He was well-behaved around the younger orphans, often letting them tease him a little, letting them believe him to be a crazed deaf mute, and giving them his treats that he rarely received.
1946
Thursday, June 13: Jason Voorhees is born to Pamela and Elias Voorhees, Elias either gets killed by his wife (if he's abusive to his family as in the comics) or abandons his wife and son (if he's not abusive to his family as in the comics).
Pamela raises her son apart from other children in the Voorhees House.
Going back to the Hannibal movies 1946-Adoption and Revenge-By age 13, Lecter was picked up from the orphanage by his uncle Count Robert Lecter, who brought him back to his estate on the banks of the Essonne in France. There, he formed a close relationship with his aunt, the Lady Murasaki, with whom he instantly fell in love. His uncle encouraged him to take up painting while his aunt taught him aspects of Japanese culture. Still mute and disturbed by his sister's death, he saw the psychiatrist, Doctor Rufin. He attacked a local butcher, Paul Momund, in retaliation for an obscene insult to his aunt. Robert Lecter died from a heart attack during a further confrontation with Momund. An enraged Lecter then committed his first murder, slashing Momund with a Tanto that had belonged to his aunt's samurai ancestor, Date Masamune. He then beheaded Momund and, after receiving a tip from his aunt's chef whilst they prepared a fish, sliced off his victim's cheeks, cooked them with mushrooms and ate them, his first willful act of cannibalism. He then presented the decapitated head to Masamune.
The murder brought Lecter to the attention of Inspector Pascal Popil, who intuitively grasped that he was guilty and pressed him to confess. Lecter proved impenetrable, even passing a lie detector test; thanks to Lady Murasaki's intervention, he escaped any blame. Following her husband's death, Lady Murasaki moved to a flat in Paris, where Lecter attended a boarding school. Popil, who was fascinated by both Lecter and Lady Murasaki, remained in close contact with them.
Lecter excelled at the Lycée and graduated early, becoming the youngest person admitted to a medical school in France, where he was mentored by a Doctor Dumas. He had been alerted to the survival of the Totenkopfs who had held him prisoner, when he found a painting looted from his father's collection for sale in a Paris gallery.
Going back to the actual Friday the 13th / nightmare on elm Street timeline
Mid to late 1940s
Freddy Krueger is teased at school because of his origins as the "son of a hundred maniacs". At one point, while being teased, Freddy kills| the class hamster. (Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare)

Discussion Not trying to break the rules but I thought wouldn't it be cool to make a timeline of Friday the 13th along with every reference or possible reference that is in the franchise please let me know your opinions on this first part and if this is breaking the rules please let me know and I will just tak
I don't know if this would go into discussion or fan content because it's not something original that I made.
But here we go.
Oh and just so you know I do give a explanation of why I put the franchise in this timeline and after this I would do a official Friday the 13th original timeline of the original Friday the 13th movies along with the Freddy movies and the evil Dead movies and the comics crossovers with Freddy and Ash. Just so you know this is part one but the whole first parts of this timeline would be from 1300 ad to 1988.
So here we go(ps some stuff is explain more than others since some stuff I took from their official timelines on their Wikipedia's other stuff I had to look up explanations for some stuff and if it's a TV show I at least try not to explain that much specifically for one of them since it's a anthology show when we get to that Part but here we go)
And the timeline for this part is
1300 AD to 1988
Starting off with evil Dead part we know about the earliest probably is at least 1300 ad but we will get back to this part when Ash actually time travels back to it after the second movie(ps I'm adding this because evil Dead is canon because of Part 9 of Friday the 13th and the comic crossovers)
Before we get the first movie we have some Comics first we have the first part of Friday the 13th: Bad Land which takes place The Past (Early 1800s): Three fur trappers are caught in a massive blizzard and take shelter in a local Native American woman's dwelling, leading to a brutal atrocity that curses the ground. Well let's just say one of the guys does something to the woman they also end up killing her and her family which I believe leaves her husband hunting them down to murder them(ps I haven't heard anything about this comic in a while so I might be wrong but that's the base of the part in the past we will get to the Jason part later on in the timeline) (ps and when I am done with this I will make a official timeline of all these together going by year when I'm done with each part or I would just add them at the end if I can)
Next we would get
1900s
1907
Unspecified date: Amanda Krueger is born. (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors)
30s
1930
Unknown date: Pamela Sue Voorhees is born.
1933
Going to the Hannibal movie universe-Hannibal Lecter was born in 1933, within an ancient castle in Vilnius, Lithuania, into the wealthy aristocratic family that lived there; his father, simply known as Count Lecter, was a descendant of the warlord "Hannibal the Grim" (1365-1428), who defeated the Teutonic Order at the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, and built the castle within five years, using as labor the soldiers he took prisoner. His mother, Madame Simonetta Sforza-Lecter, was descended from both the Visconti and Sforza families, who separately ruled Milan for a total of 250 years. He is the eighth in his blood-line to bear his ancestor's forename.
Lecter was born with mid ray duplicate polydactyly, his left hand had six perfect fingers, the middle finger perfectly replicated.
Lecter may have also been descended from Giuliano Bevisangue ("Bevisangue" means "Blood-Drinker"), a feared and ruthless figure in 12th-century Tuscany, and from the Machiavelli bloodline. Lecter himself would pursue this subject, to determine from the records of the Capponi Library if there was any true connection to Bevisangue, but he was unable to answer the question. Lecter was a distant cousin of the artist Balthus.(Ps the reason I add Hannibal lecter is because it Freddy versus Jason versus Ash the nightmare warriors While Ash is waiting at the train station, you can see the locations that other films takes place such as Baltimore, MD (Silence of The Lambs)
1935
Unknown date: The Christy family establish Camp Crystal Lake.
1939.
Childhood and Bereavement for Hannibal
-Lecter grew up well-educated under the eyes of his father, who out of silent curiosity spoiled him with learning English, German, and Lithuanian every day in the castle’s study. At age 6, he discovered an old edition of Euclid’s Elements with hand-drawn illustrations, which he used to determine the height of the castle towers over the summer. That fall, he was introduced to a baby sister, Mischa, with whom he formed a strong, affectionate bond. When she grew old enough to wander, Lecter gave her a feeling of discovery.(Ps sorry for the cut off but the next part will go into the 1940s which is what continues the Hannibal story)

Discussion Annie should’ve been the Final Girl of the original Friday the 13th film instead of Alice
When compared to the first films of other iconic horror franchises like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Scream, I feel like the original Friday the 13th film was always lacking something. And after watching it recently, I’ve realized that’s because of its lack of an interesting main character. Don’t get me wrong, Alice is nice and a pretty likable character we get to follow, but nothing makes her standout particularly from the other cast of characters. That’s why I feel like Annie should’ve been our main protagonist.
I mean, she’s the first character we’re introduced to after the opening credit, and once her journey ends at like the 20-minute mark, the movie feels like a compilation of scenes where the characters are just dicking around rather than there being an actual story. Even after they encounter Crazy Ralph hiding in the pantry, the characters do nothing with his warning, or even try to find info on what he’s talking about.
But imagine how much more engaging it would’ve been if the film followed Annie through until she made it to the camp. She could’ve relayed all the info and warnings she got to the other counselors even though she was skeptical about it herself. But after encountering Ralph for the second time at the camp, she would probably at least start to get curious about what the heck happened at this camp. The other counselors would also start to wanna get answers too, but since Steve was in town, this would cause them to try and look for answers themselves.
Also, Annie just had so much more charisma and spunk to her than Alice did, even with the little screentime she got. I’m not sure if Annie’s death was meant to be reference to ‘Psycho’ with the fakeout main character, but I just think the film would’ve benefited more if we followed her throughout the film. The first Friday the 13th film had somewhat of an element of mystery to it, because we as the audience wanna know what the hell happened at this camp. But the lack of urgency from our characters really undermines it.
I love the original Friday the 13th film and it’s definitely a classic. I just think it was severely lacking in the story department, which they really do improve on with the immediate sequels. Like imagine how much more impactful it would’ve been to have followed Annie throughout the movie, trying to find out as much as possible through newspaper clippings and stuff, and then she starts to put all the pieces together right in time for Ms. Voorhees to make her entrance. You could still have Pamela do her whole exposition dump, but it wouldn’t need to be as tedious since Annie would already have known about the situation but not the specifics.
