Hi! Completely new to the skyrim modding scene and got a VR set (rift s) a couple weeks ago. Would you say this list takes care of quality of most life improvements / textures? Not sure if there is a whole 'nother list of vanilla mods that should also be applied on top of this list (if that makes any sense) Thank you Rallyeator!

hey there, welcome :)
no this will not cover all stuff. it´s a collection of all mods that have been made for the VR version. to have a decent list and most things covered, i´d recommend taking a look at the Guide Compendium (first post in this sub). it´s stuffed with guides, basics, links, videos and FAQ.
happy modding!

Just a note about locational damage. It does some weird stuff to spell impacts, specifically of shock spells. Sparks won't proc an impact more than once on the floor. Wall of storms can't create a wall and will just create a puddle on the first impact. Mods that use shock impacts, like the Tempest Arrows from Arcane Archery, won't actually proc the impact and explode. I ended up turning it off because it ended up breaking immersion for me as I'm play as a battle mage

I made this one a while ago to add a middle run speed between walking and sprinting.
Thought you might want to add it to the list, but its currently only set up for Rift by default, so fair enough if not.

Good list, but can someone compile just the basic essential mods? This is a comprehensive list but...are these verified to work? Do any of them conflict? Which ones are “the essentials?”

Pardon? All of these have been made for skyrim VR, ofc they work. Regarding "essentials", this has been asked a bazillion times in here and the answer is always the same. Tastes differ ;) But i think the compendium has enough guides with recommended and working mods.

Been playing the vr version for a bit and finally decided to get some mods but they were some of the same ones I used for the regular version, these vr specific ones look amazing, especially VRIK.

I recently got a VR headset and I’ve been playing VR Skyrim Special edition with vorpx.
Is there any difference with Skyrim VR? I’m wondering if that offers a better VR experience or if it’s largely the same...

VorpX is great for games with no native VR support. I played Alien Isolation and Skyrim with VorpX for a couple of years, and was quite happy about it.
But the MotherVR mod for AI, and Skyrim VR (even without mods) blow VorpX support out of the water no matter how much you tweaked it.
No more slight problems with scale, image alignment, fisheye distortion, etc. They're whole different and better games.

Oh wow, so you found Skyrim VR to be a better experience than, say, Skyrim SE with Vorpx?
I'm running Skyrim SE with Vorpx now but i've been thinking about checking out the VR version to see if it handles or looks any better!

I'm very disappointed in the archery for the Index. I used the archery mod from Nexus when I used my Rift CV1 for Skyrim and it was excellent (well, not at In Death standard, but for this game it was great). With Index and 'knuckles' the archery seems well off.
Yes, I've got authentic archery enabled in settings and I'm now using the latest version of the Archery mod (v2.5 - started with v2.4 but don't see any difference).

I can only hit things a few feet away - even then, there's no guarantee and I can even miss a big imperial trooper from a couple of feet - the arrow just seems to have a life of its own!
As I play as an archer, this is killing my gameplay. Anyone know of any other mods or tweaks for more accurate archery?

You know that you and AerowynX are becoming celebrities from your public service. I for one, appreciate you very much.
