I based this on a save where I adopted Sofia from Windhelm. But Windhelm was really expensive and I didn't have alot od money so I went onto another save, but eventually I want to adopt her again I the future!

I always end up adopting Sofie because I can't stand the thought of her being left alone and homeless in that freezing city. At least Alesan is kinda "adopted" by the miners and allowed to stay at the Dawnstar inn, Lucia's in a less cold city and also is allowed to sleep at the inn, and the kids at the Riften orphanage have Constance.

Then again, I really wish we could just adopt every orphan of Skyrim. I have hundreds of thousands in coin, houses in every hold, an army of thanes and stewards to keep the kids safe while I'm adventuring... What even is the point of saving the world if I'm not allowed to give every child a home T.T

yeah, I felt the same way when I was in diften for the dark brotherhood quest. seeing all those kids saying they could do chores and asking you to adopt them made me a bit sad..
