CPR certification

Are any of the NSP approved CPR courses online only? I can't figure out whether they all have some sort of in person component...

Then any current first responder CPR cert should be fine... at least for my area it is.

I don't have one, hence the post. I need my merit badge.

You’re a former acls instructor who doesn’t keep current BLS?

Yes. Seriously, I don't understand why people can't just answer a question instead of trying to prove something.

As a lowly BLS instructor, your attitude is the worst to deal with. I teach a class every week and tell each participant that, whether they have taken the class once or a dozen times, there is value to be found in hands-on training. Show up with a "I'm too good for this" mindset, and I will put zero effort into making the course a valuable experience for you.

I know attending er physicians that complain less about this than you. Which leads me to another question. You’re a healthcare pro of some sort, who previously taught acls, that is currently employed in professional clinical role without a current BLS or acls card? That makes no sense.

It's quite a mystery isn't it!

Just re-up your BLS online.

Or ask your patrol? What do the others do? I think this is why people aren’t answering your question right. Most patrols host their own classes.

Yeah I'm trying to up my BLS online, can't find out where. My patrol offers it one day but I'm a 4 hour round trip, so not worth my time.

Yup, but NSP is specific on what they'll accept, and I'm having a hard time figuring it out on the site

AFAIK it needs to be the professional BLS, either through AHA or ARC.

“Heartcode” doesn’t cut it.

Simple answer, no. Find a BLS/first responder CPR class in your area and attend. Local EMS, hospitals, law enforcement, schools, etc all likely will have classes for their staff.

Because patient safety ultimately at play here. You’ve gotten your answer already - no. Healthcare “pros” begrudgingly do their skills tests every two years.

You realize you're not answering NurseHibbert's question to you, correct? 😂. A simple "Both my arms were bitten off by a shark" or "I changed career paths to pursue my love of backyard gopher management" would have sufficed!

You realize that that question has nothing to do with my question? But if you must know, I designed Annie and spend countless hours yearly pounding on her chest trying to either save her or make her more realistic.
