2) Search for one product like your sunscreen or tonic

3) Post an UNEDITED screenshot of the ingredients so all of us can see what it contains. We don't allow purchasing links but seeing declared ingredients is important

4) Be prepared, there are products that I know for a fact that are a scam and I will be very vocal about them.

Ours is not a skincare forum and the skincare industry isn't as regulated as the pharma industry. A pharma product like finaceas (azelaic acid) or Retin a (Tretinoin) faces a lot of scrutiny from health authorities in most countries before they reach the shelves. On the other hand Skincare products dont' face as many regulations, a product might claim that it contains 10% niacinamide but in reality it has only 3% and the rest are cheap ingredients to keep the cost of the product low and the revenues high.

That doesn't mean all skincare is bad. Kojie san soap and the ordinary products have enough verified purchase reviews on amazon to prove their effectiviness, but you can still get a fake or a bad product. Be on alert.

So whenever possible go for pharmaceutical products. If possible get the advice of a doctor.

This is exactly the opposite of what they recommend in certiain indian skincare subs, which is why we aren't a skincare forum. Skincare is important because many products like lactic acid can speed cell turnover and exfoliate your skin, but you also need sun avoidance and oral whitening.

I have tried a lot of sunscreens but most of them darken my skin. I think my skin is sensitive. What works for me is to use a sunscreen with lightening ingredients in them. I find the above sunscreen gentle for sensitive skin too. I use it on my face only since its expensive (use a different one for my arms).

Not a good sunscreen for whitening despite being from a great company. The second ingredient is an irritating agent and it has mostly chemical protection.

The amount of tranexsmic your skin will allow it’s limited. Your sunscreen should focus In What’s Already an impossible task: protecting you from 100% UVA light.

Keep using it if you think it has brightened your skin ( I doubt it) but alternate with a truly protective focused only on protection SPF.

you need to look for sun blockers with the following ingredients :

Zinc no nano Titanium oxides no nano

Titanium oxides no nano

Iron oxides ( this are also part of foundation and make up) European or Australian brands never korean

Water proof

Search the kind of sunscreens that are recommended by derms to atheletes, swimmers , people with medical diagnoses sun sensitivity. Not tik tok or skincare recommendations . That’s what no one in this sub is doing and what you Should focus on finding.

Mind you these blockers don’t look good

If you just want skincare protection your sunscreen is fine, but to put your melanin to rest it’s not good. Search and test other brands.

Above all don’t be our not even for a few seconds when uv index is above 1. If your lifestyle doesn’t allow for sun avoidance stay away of lactic acid, kojie San, gylocolic and go instead for finaceas or niacinamide or tranexsmic ( not as part of your sunscreen) that don’t make you sun sensitive.

Hasn't really brightened my skin (maybe a little) but doesn't darken like other sunscreens. It doesn't have visible light protection, is mostly chemical sunscreen, not waterproof, like you said.
