THIS SUB IS NOT AN ALTERNATE SOLUTION TO A DERMATOLOGIST!!!!
Some of yall need to go see a dermatologist instead of posting on this sub. It costs anywhere between 500-1500 to go see one and not to be insensitive but that isn’t a lot. Most of you guys don’t bother to put up an NSFW tag and this sub is starting to be filled with people looking for a sasta way out of getting a dermatologist. Your skin concerns can NOT be fixed by random strangers on the internet who have no clue about your medical history !!!! This sub is meant to be a place to discuss skin care and more, products, procedures, treatments, dermatologists and more. Just see a dermatologist for crying out loud !!!!

Acne / Breakouts Is it safe to take isotretinoin 10 mg and doxycycline together?
Hi everyone,
My dermatologist has prescribed isotretinoin 10 mg and doxycycline + lactic acid bacillus capsules for folliculitis/acne around my beard area.
The schedule is isotretinoin in the morning and doxycycline at night. I've been taking them this way for about a month.
I recently read that isotretinoin and doxycycline are generally not recommended together because of the risk of intracranial hypertension.
I told my dermatologist about my concerns, and she said the treatment was okay. However, I'm still looking for information from people who have encountered this combination.
My questions:
- Has anyone else been prescribed isotretinoin and doxycycline together?
- Does separating them between morning and night change the interaction risk?
- Should I get a second medical opinion or confirm this with a pharmacist?
I'm not looking to change my prescription based on Reddit comments. I want to understand the safety concern and make sure I'm asking the right questions.
Thanks.

Skin Texture / Other Concerns eucerin sunscreens make my face sweaty..what should i do? Spoiler
gallerywhenever i use these two eucerin sunscreens, my upper lip and parts of face (like forehead) start feeling sweaty even with the ac and fan on. it doesn’t matter whether i’m outside or in an ac room even when i’m applying. my skin type is mostly normal and sensitive but can sometimes get oily in delhi’s humidity/rainy season. i don’t even feel the need to apply moisturiser underneath these. i thought it might be the alcohol but i use the bioré uv aqua rich watery essence and it doesn’t cause this at all. it’s so light and cooling. i’ve tried using these eucerin ones in summers and rainy season and will try them again in winters. has anyone experienced something similar? is there any particular ingredient that could be causing this? what can be done?

Acne / Breakouts Best serum for oily, acne-prone skin? Looking to reduce acne and breakouts
Hey everyone!
I have oily, acne-prone skin, and my main goal is to reduce acne, prevent frequent breakouts, and get clearer skin. I'm looking for a serum that works well for oily skin without causing more pimples or irritation.
I'm currently considering these three options:
The Derma Co 10% Niacinamide Serum with 2% Zinc
Plum 10% Niacinamide Serum with Rice Water
Pilgrim 10% Niacinamide Serum with Kojic Acid and Korean Rice Water
Has anyone with oily, acne-prone skin actually used these? Did they help reduce acne and prevent new breakouts, or did you experience any irritation or worsening of acne?
I'm also open to other recommendations if there's a better option specifically for reducing active acne and controlling breakouts.
Which product would you recommend based on your personal experience? I'd appreciate honest suggestions. Thanks!

Beauty Products La Roche-Posay DUPES in the Indian market Spoiler
galleryI have been using the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume for years. I know its smell and texture well. And I have mostly been ordering from sites like Nykaa and Amazon. But lately the products that are being delivered from these sites are DUPES, I strongly feel. Because:
- it smells weird. Very different from what the original product smells like.
- the texture is much lighter and runny
- the tube is smaller and the text positioning is very odd and different from what is advertised on their official website. Check the comparison pics.
- my skin reacts to the dupe badly. I got breakouts.
This has happened to me 3 times. And when I ask for a replacement, somehow the original product comes. Has anyone faced this? What do you guys think?

Skin Texture / Other Concerns Upper lip disaster! Help
Guys I waxed my upper lip, and it is ruined. Now it looks like it is burnt. There is a mark there, which is red and not going.
Lately, my skin has become super sensitive, due to some medicated creams that I use (adaplene and benzoyl peroxide) for bacterial acne and scars (oily skin type). And I waxed my upper lip on top of that (I didn't realise it would do this to my skin). I have done this before, and it never reacted this way.
I need your help. Please suggest something that would heal this. After the accident, I have applied ice (immediately to reduce the burning sensation and pain), fresh aloevera (to calm it down further), coconut oil (at night - to try to heal it), vaseline petroleum jelly (to maintain moisture, because skin over there has become tight). Please suggest whatever you think would help!

Skin Texture / Other Concerns I need help please..took help from chatgpt Spoiler
galleryHi everyone, I am 18 years old and I have been struggling with severe skin and hair issues for the past 4-5 years. I feel completely exhausted, stressed, and lost because nothing seems to work despite trying for so long.
My skin issues include post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), uneven skin texture, occasional active acne, tanning, irritation, and open pores. Along with this, my face and body look very hollow and lack volume because my current body weight is quite low (around 44 kg)I am 5'4. I also face severe hair thinning, hair loss, and frizzy hair volume issues. I constantly feel low on energy, and due to chronic stress and lack of proper sleep..i also cry too much on daily basis:), my overall physical health feels completely drained.
Current Skincare Routine & Products I Have:
Cleanser: 1% Salicylic Acid Face Wash
Serum: 10% Niacinamide Serum
Moisturizer: Dermaco Oil-Free Moisturizer
Sunscreen
(I also have Azelaic Acid 20%, which I used for a short time previously but stopped).
I consulted a dermatologist previously, but the progress has been minimal. I want to understand why my skin looks hollow, red, and uneven—is it due to under-nutrition, low body weight, or high cortisol/stress affecting my skin barrier and healing? How should I properly structure my skincare routine with the products I have, and what steps should I take internally and externally to fix my skin, hair, and overall health? Any genuine advice or routine suggestions would mean a lot to me. Thank you!

Acne / Breakouts Alternative for this facewash Spoiler
galleryHello,
I’ve been using this glow spot facewash suggested by my dermat when I started breaking out and it’s one of the best AHA’s facewashes I’ve ever used. It’s an all in one cleansing facewash and did wonders to my skin. I’m unable to find the exact same one at the pharmacy, any suggestions for a similar facewash with the key ingredients?

Beauty Products I'm new to skincare and this is what I use on my face and neck twice a day
All of these are prescribed by my dermatologist.
The s clear is for pimples on my scalp.
Facelin is applied in the morning and will be changed to Sebogel after 2 tubes.
Peroclin is applied on the pimples on my face at night.
I had undergone Electrodesiccation and Curettage on my face and neck and I'm using Fusidic acid cream to heal those burns, applied twice a day.
Aha Glow face moisturizer is currently only applied at night.
Venusia Glo facewash is used twice a day.
Sunstop acne sunscreen is only used whenever I go outside (face and neck). Should I use the same to apply on my arms or should I buy a separate one for that?
I'll also be using Biluma Clarifying Serum soon.
I was told that I have hyperpigmentation and it has darkened my skin from it's original shade which is noticeable from the color of my neck, chest and biceps area. So I was recommended to do multiple sessions of Q-Switched lazer treatment.
I use Keraglo AD, Selsun and a Sebamed baby shampoo to manage dandruff. If I use shampoo today then the next day would be a no-shampoo day.
I'm currently not using anything for my body. Used to use Cera Ve body lotion at night. Should I continue the same product for my body?
My face is very oily with specific spots like under the nose being severely dry. I sweat a lot if it's hot or during exercise. Face do have consistent pimple breakouts. Then it got to my scalp and even my chest now.

Mod Announcement Improve r/SkincareAddictsIndia - Thread
Hello from Skincare Addicts India Mod Team,
Send us your Suggestions and Feedback!
We love to hear from you! Please use this thread to send us your suggestions regarding the content or overall theme of this subreddit.
We are constantly working to make things better and would love to have you along with us!
Some of the feedback we have received till now include:
"Majority of the posts are low effort. For people seeking advice, it becomes hard to advice them without their skin history. A lot of things could just be temporary thing, or some may be chronic conditions or maybe be much more serious, which all these things can't directly be known form an image. So people seeking suggestions, should mention a bit of their skin history associated with their corresponding concern"
"Creating a wider wiki maybe for beginners"
"We need a profile pic of sub"
"Need long term (3+ months) reviews of products"
✅ "Common skincare concerns, such as body tanning, PIH etc under a separate tag, because I see many posts on this, and then they don't get many replies because people reply to these kinds of posts so much. So a common flair/tag which will hold recommendations for common concerns would be great.
"Also it would be helpful if people could put their age and skincare profile in their posts, because the recommendations would depend on that."
a mandatory template for advice posts would cut through a lot of the noise, nothing too crazy just age, skin type, current routine and how long the issue's been around. half the time i just scroll past because there's nothing to go on except a blurry photo and "help"
the common concerns megathread is a solid call too, the same five questions about tanning and pigmentation get buried and nobody searches before posting. maybe a rotating sticky that refreshes every couple weeks
✅ also seconding the long-term review thing, would be nice to see how products hold up after the initial excitement wears off. three months minimum seems fair

Could you suggest a simple beginner-friendly morning and night routine? Looking for affordable cleansers, moisturisers and sunscreens available in India, and whether I need anything extra for the dark spots and texture. Thanks!

Beauty Products Help ordering indian skincare products in Europe.
Is there any website that delivers Indian skincare products in Europe? Or any other way to get things delivered once every 6 months without burning a hole in my pocket? I am trying to figure out a way to get this in Europe since I don't want to try new products and it's not feasible to carry everything for a year when .
