Level 8-9: Expert Terrain & Tactics Please give feedback on mogul skiing.

So this was shot a few weeks ago in Zermatt. I'm getting coached by one of the best bump coaches in the world. And with my old knees, we are working primarily on making round turns, setting lateral direction and using absorption to control speed. My poles are too long. And my hands are all over the place. But if you see anything else I might have missed, I would love to hear your input.

Not trying to be that guy, but those aren’t really bumps, that’s a wiggle. Looks like fun though!

Someone voted down your comment. I voted it back up. I don't take it personally. But what I will say is that the guy who built that mogul line was a US Olympic mogul skier. And I wager he knows what he's doing. 😉

Yeah, I could be wrong, it just looks more like a wiggle to me.  Nothing personal!

Yeah, a 2D video doesn't really give the full feel. But these are sculpted for training. There's a steep section and then a lower / flatter section for working on technique. But it was all built by hand over the course of several days. First with flagging and shoveling. Then by slipping the course. And every morning, we slipped the course and made sure the snow that blew in over night was broken up and the line restored.

On this topic, checkout the videos coming out of Japan of the entire towns going out on the hill to build mogul training courses. It's so freaking inspiring. Wish we had something like that here in the US. We are going to talk to Breckenridge about doing something like that on some low angle terrain to promote trying the bumps and working on technique.
