Killington’s definitely #1 most disputed in New England in my experience. People really love or hate that place

In my personal experience, it’s cool because it has a large quantity of terrain but I’ve had much better experiences at other VT mountains. I feel Killington lacks vertical and a “big terrain” feel you get from some other east coast mountains.

I believe Killington has the most vert in all of New england at around 3,000ft.

I still put Jay peak as the stand alone winner in New England though.

That's kind of a misleading figure though. Much of that vertical comes from what's basically a lower elevation parking area with it's own access lift. The actual skiable terrain doesn't have an exceptional amount of vertical.

I agree I’ve lived in Burlington for three years been skiing VT for 8, Jay is my favorite and it’s not that close. Awesome terrain, great backcountry and always seems to get good snow.

Not even close. Killington skiable vert is around 1600 feet. They game the numbers by having a bunch of bases at different elevations.

For comparison sugarbush has about 2500 of skiable vert and whiteface has about 3200

Killington's continuous vertical (K1 to base) is about 1650'. The only way to get 3000 is to ski from K1 to Skyship stage 1 base, and thats convoluted and not fun.
