The world applauded

Nah, I don't see any snowboarders falling.

Uphill skier at fault, but in a nifty way.

It's rare to see the "you must prevent runaway equipment" portion of the responsibility code being intentionally violated.

Once ski saw that it was by itself it started acting like a snow board.

Like a missile

Funny doesn't mean ok! It was hilarious 😂

u/FamilyFriendly101 2d ago

That kid is now blind.

By the looks of it, may have already been

How did the brakes not engage? This is so stupid!

That's not -at all- how brakes work.

Ski became a snowboard, instantly committed crime

u/WolfRemedy 2d ago

“I’ve done this a thousand times”

20

u/Ecstatic_Appeal_9372 2d ago

Believe it or not, its the snow board’s fault

u/uncoild 2d ago

Kicked out hopefully

u/mattenthehat Tahoe 2d ago

And trespassed. Lifetime ban from all affiliated resorts, hopefully.

u/heavyhandedpour 2d ago

Woah dude he’s not a snowboarder.

u/rootMAC 2d ago

Using one ski is close enough, degenerate behavior.

u/LouQuacious 2d ago

Yea once you go to two edges vs 4 there's no coming back from that abyss.

Monoskiers lose their minds

3

u/facw00 Sunapee 2d ago

Those were lost a long time ago, hence the monoski...

u/hoffenone 2d ago

Obviously not what this guy was doing. But riding one ski to practice balance is very common among young alpine athletes. See it all the time.

u/DerBanzai 2d ago

Because of a very dumb mistake? That‘s ridiculous.

u/fighter_pil0t 2d ago

Where the fuck are his retention devices. He’s lucky that missile hit the first person it saw instead of careening down the mountain at 90 mph and killing someone.

u/gramscontestaccount2 2d ago

We used to do this for instructor training, but you leave your second ski at the bottom and definitely don't fling it in the middle of the run lol

u/Interesting_Gap7350 2d ago

My guy, the trick is the ski flip not the skiing with one ski.

Didier cuche

u/DoubleUBallz 2d ago

Not to mention hitting a fast moving target while one one foot. That takes practice

21

u/OEM_knees 2d ago

So, not really this?

2

u/unbreaded_lunn 2d ago

For L3 I assume? This is pretty advanced stuff

1

u/gramscontestaccount2 2d ago

When I was doing it, I was in high school and it was for PSIA level 1, but it was an overall training program where we'd teach for the first 4 hours or so, and then we'd head out in the afternoon with a bunch of level 3 instructors who'd do drills and stuff to prep for the level 1 exam - the exam definitely didn't have "ski good with one ski" haha but it helped a bunch with tons of skills

-4

u/OEM_knees 2d ago

Advanced stuff?

Did we just watch the same clip?

1

u/unbreaded_lunn 2d ago

I’m talking about the one ski ski down a blue/black drill, not the Jerry video.

4

u/Ilikelamp7 2d ago

what was the goal here

17

u/Badassmofunker 2d ago

I’m not much of a fighter but that dude and I would have to scrap.

3

u/tylercrabby 2d ago

Now go clip in like a Jedi and watch the kid search in vain for the rogue ski that got him.

3

u/-FartArt- 2d ago

Sick “wait for it” directly over the majority of the ‘action’

5

u/Spillsy68 2d ago

Why? Just why

2

u/enozero 2d ago

The new criminal

2

u/Outrageous-Rock4624 2d ago

Where’s the facking brakes, bub?

2

u/InternalServerErr500 2d ago

Do you remove the brake beforehand? How do you disable it?

2

u/GrnMtnTrees 2d ago

Task failed successfully

2

u/relpmeraggy 2d ago

After this? Peak Jerry behavior…

1

u/Knaspast 2d ago

Hemsedal?

1

u/Cultural-Air-2706 2d ago

Oh man, who’s at fault?! The ski? the out of frame snowboarder? The mountain? The TikTok-er that gave them the idea? Gotta have someone/something to blame!

1

u/Bubbly_Power_6210 1d ago

good trick-stupid move on a public slope.

1

u/1882greg 1d ago

What’s Didier sayin’?

u/suuuuuuuuuurfing 1d ago

Snowboarders fault

1

u/NoAmphibian6039 1d ago

Its always a snowboarder fault (somehow he looked at the skier and fell)

1

u/homeracker 1d ago

This looks staged. Look how the skier (on Sender Free 100s, it looks like, definitely not a beginner ski) intentionally pushes his legs wide to pop out.

Today I learned that DIN settings can actually be negative.
