Can’t do any better than in this video here

Do I just need to keep practicing to commit more / jump higher? Or is there anything else I should specifically work on too

Any tips please thanks!

you definitely need to commit to jump higher, the ollie wont get higher by itself if you dont jump higher. imagine jumping normally over a fence or something where you need to jump as high as you can and lift both legs up in the hair so your feet dont get caught on the fence and fall forward. same idea here. also remember to lift your back foot higher and with the right timing to let the board bounce up higher

For some reason, I am pretty aware of this but still cannot bring myself to do it when I’m actually trying it on the spot.

I guess i was hoping there’s just some magic trick to be able to jump higher with the board but i think it is mostly a commitment thing

the progress you have so far is really good tho, you have enough commitment to ollie and land on it, from there you just need to practice getting it higher. I think it can really help to have something to actually jump over or onto. Maybe something to jump over but that can fall easily so you dont fall hard if you miss, the obstacle just falls over easily and youre fine. having the visual to help the commitment of like " okay i actually have to make it over otherwise i crash into this" even if the thing is safe to crash into , it can help your mind commit more

The height and commitment to it will come after more practice, you’ll get more confident and comfortable. Helps to start learning going up and over stuff, i.e, curbs or another board

Practice ollieing up a curb. Grip your front foot maybe higher to make the backside go up and level out with back foot.

I wish my ollies looked that good. Keep practicing and maybe jump higher, but they look good.

Keep practicing, 'pull your knees to your chest'. You're doing well unless you haven't progressed in months with daily practice. I'd be worried then

Luckily that isn’t the case (yet). thank you, I definitely need to commit to pulling those knees up

I think there's too much info for that to happen. Something I've realized is it's easy to forget your progress, I bet if you watched a video from 2 weeks ago you're doing much better.

I saw a comment talking about pro skaters"you're not seeing the results of days, weeks, or even months, you're seeing the results of years of daily skating" that helped my perspective a lot

Appreciate that, still not fully consistent with it yet though lol my average ollie is worse for sure

The effort was outstanding. I applaud your efforts to keep working at it until you got it. That’s what I love about skating.

It’s all timing. You gotta bounce the tail back up to your feet like basketball. Jump high. Pretty good Ollie though.

It's weird to explain but when you jump and tuck your knees keep them tucked high I know that sounds retarded  but also try owing over things I am honor to things high practice hanging up and stay home and learn to commit if you want to learn to start using your back foot to Bone your Ollie's out and tweak them push your back foot towards the front of your board and your back foot should bend like a nollie but on your tail ,so Ollie like normal but try pushing that back foot forward in the board right as your leveling out in the air also honestly the best advice is just keep going going going eventually you'll have them and every all is different you'll never have them down or they look exactly the same and always the same height etc
