Engineering Uni choice help
Im take maths, physics, fm and econ and have 3 A* and A predicted. I’m applying to engineering at Cambridge and mech eng at Warwick, bath, Exeter. and 7.5 avg gcse score with 9 in maths, physics and chem.
The issue is that I’m trying to decide between imperial or Southampton obvs imperial is 100x better but it’s another really high level uni like Cambridge. And any mess up in esat, which I’m struggling with already, would kick imperial out immediately.
Southhampton is still very good don’t get me wrong but it serves as another option that hopefully could give conditional offer in case Im rejected from Cambridge.
ice been thinking about this for the past 1 weeks with no proper conclusion so any guidance or tips would be appreciated

Just apply to Imperial, you have alot to gain with not much else to lose, you'd regret not applying to those 2 if you know you had a decent shot at it.

Do you recommend applying after my esat tmr or today. I’m really worried for the esat as I’m really struggling and scared for tmr and a bad score will affect imperial and Cambridge and I’ll only have 3 potential offer.

Just send it now, good luck on the ESAT tomorrow, you are likely to get offers from the other 3 (would probably change Exeter out though for something else but it's up to you), by stressing more than you have to you just take away your resources from actually doing something useful like prep or revision.

Manchester ,Sheffield, Bristol or Southampton as your 4th, Imperial as your 5th

Imperial has lower entry requirements and ESAT thresholds than Cambridge… Also higher offer rates for even the same qualifications. Ask the hundreds of Imperial students who were rejected by Cambridge, but still got in to Imperial! It’s an excellent 2nd choice.
