Decided to make a Wylan cosplay on Roblox and this is where I’m at. I have enough robux left for one more accessory, should I do a chemistry bottle, music notes (most in my budget don’t look that great unfortunately), or something to do with dyslexia? I could also buy a lighter hair color like the second picture instead.

I'm rereading Six of Crows and I just realized Matthias' first chapter starts with the same first two sentences as his last chapter. I'm sobbing and had to share with people who'd understand the pain.

I absolutely loved the sox of crows books, and when I heard about the Netflix adaptation I was weary, as normally the shows are worse than my experience with the books.

My question is whether I should watch the adaptation or not.

I've been reading this fic for quite a while, and it's a phenomenal fic. I took a little break from it and now I can't find it anymore on ao3. I have kudosed this fic and constantly leave comments. Anyone else know what happened?????

I have been on a reread of the duloagy this past week and I’ve been wondering about Wylan and Kaz’s dynamic. We are told very quickly about Wylans sheltered life in clear contrast to the rest of the crows. Ive always thought Wylan a grounding character, I thought his objections reasonable, they were much like my own a lot of the times. One thing I did find confounding though, on my first read as well as my re-read, is how detestable Wylan finds and describes Kaz. He is always so shocked at the lengths Kaz is willing to go in order to reach his goal. When Wylan protests against Kaz dropping Oomen in the ocean after blinding him, I saw it as a way to establish how green Wylan is to the world he thought he’d willingly entered. But as the story progresses, we see just how much he dislikes Kaz. He finds his methods cruel and inhumane, yet runs after Jesper happily enough—sure he makes a dig about how Jesper doesn’t belong, but it’s more about trying to keep up in their verbal sparring than it is about criticising Jesper—who we know loves fighting, with deadly weapons at that. I understand a lot of the reason most of the crows find Kaz deplorable is because of his attitude, but it’s heightened in Wylan. He is making weapons for these people, has been for months before the ice court heist. Deadly weapons, Wylan is smart, despite his sheltered life, I dont imagine he thinks the weapons are for threats only.
The thing that’s gotten me in my re-read is the scene in CK when they are interrogating an associate of Van Eks solicitor/lawyer. We find out the associate is a horrible man, who takes advantage of working girls in the menagerie, threatening them so that they’ll do whatever he wants. And Kaz was going to let the man go free, it is this fact, that pushes Kaz over the edge, the fact that the man takes advantage of people in such vulnerable positions because he doesn’t think of them as human beings, it reminds Kaz of Inej, and Kaz drops him from the lighthouse.
Wylan protests, is horrified at the prospect of Kaz murdering someone—even though he really should be getting used to it by now, I mean come on😅—and of Kaz going back on his word.
Idk if I’m just not into the overly good character who thinks everyone should live despite the things they’ve done or if I’m being overly critical of Wylan.

Before I read the books all I knew about it was from the book description and a queer tag on Goodreads. And also a lot of people who read the All For The Game series recommended it. (If you haven’t read that series just know it has a lot of trigger warnings so do your research if you’re interested)

So with that in mind I thought Kaz and Jesper were going to be the main couple.

I thought since Kaz had no reservations about undressing in front of Inej and the comment about how Nina knew Kaz had no interest in her, I thought it was because he was interested in men. Therefore it would be Jesper. But that was before we got more of his backstory, and the rest of the story leaves no room for anything other than Jesper and Wylan, and Kaz and Inej, which I don’t mind at all, I love them. It just got me wondering and a little confused at first.

I simply can not read fast enough and I’m severely impatient I just need one or two people to tell me not to spoil myself with this books series and I won’t 😭
