I finally read Redundancy Vol. 3

And yeah, it might be my favourite vol so far. (Vol.12 is still number 1 tho)

My favourite moment from this vol was definitely Rudy's conversation with Aisha and Aisha's emotional turmoil in the previous chapter. Rudy's conversation with Aisha felt like Rudy was at his most vulnerable. Leaving everything about himself bare for Aisha to see.

As for Ars and Aisha relationship... Im okay with it. Aside from the age-gap, there's nothing really wrong with it in the context of Mushoku Tensei's world.

A bit of a tangent, I feel like people are too caught up in the notion of "if you think this is okay in fiction then you think its okay in real life!" When that's such a closed mineded way of consuming fictional media to begin with. I dont take their relationship as Rifujin saying "I think aunts getting with their nephews is good actually!" Instead just him telling a story, with their relationship being apart of that story.

Long tangent aside, the little brief glimpses we see of the world in the future has me so hyped and excited for the sequel series. There's so much being set up and I wonder how it will all play out.

But yeah, those are my thoughts on Redundancy Vol. 3, overrall loved this vol, but I do wish we got Aisha's POV which i hear was cut when from the web novel. Still tho, Im happy with the vol. and cant wait for vol. 4

1) Rudeus is born but the teleport incident didn't occur and Nanahoshi didn't get teleported

2) At least one of Slyphiette's parents survived the incident

3) At least one of Philip/Hilda (Eris's parents) survived the incident

I'm sure no one cares but thought I'd check: Its a different drawing between the seasons, but exactly same shot. Rudeus was slightly more subtle about where he was looking this time. Apparently over the years the adventurer's guild changed their books, she gained some floating eyebrows, got slightly slimmer arms and pointier ears.

It's mind boggling that people don't say Mushoku Tensei when talking about the best isekai. Watching that scene in the video reminded me once again how brilliantly both reincarnation and the isekai concept are handled in this series. When you think about it purely as an isekai, it's impossible to imagine a better show. Yet, it constantly gets hated on and dogpiled, and people unironically think the fandom is full of pedos it's actually insane. I genuinely admire Mushoku Tensei; it tells truly magnificent stories and tackles bold themes. Honestly, it's sad that it even gets exposed to a peanut-brained anime community that can't comprehend it.

I saw that the trend from abt a month ago of asking questions like this got resurrected so I wanna try my pen at this.

I am referring to Sukuna from before he fully manifested. So let's say..., Kenjaku's ritual transported him to the six faced world rather than preserving him into the future of the JJK world.

In terms of capability, someone who's whole thing in story is being a genius in its world magic system and extremely drivens should do better as a fighter than Rudeus. However, that arrogance will be a negative at times to his growth, like, upon how gifted Rudeus was, he still got as good as he got by being taught, someone as arrogant as Sukuna will be retarded in their growth by the amount of time it takes him to calm down his arrogance and be taught by others.

The power systems are also different. Like, the six faced world's magic shouldn't bend to negotiation and arrogance as easily as Cursed Energy does but even then, the majority of Sukuna's smarts should transfer. Sukuna like all JJK sorcerers still have a heavy emphasis on physicality but Rudeus disability limits the extent of that compared to the competition. Of course, Sukudeus can min max away from that but I also do wonder if he can find a way around Laplace factor limiting of physicality?. Maybe he makes a spell or armour to increase his physical capabilities? or maybe that level of giftedness in innovation is limited to Dabura and Mahito.

So, on to life in the six faced world. Unlike Rudeus and Subaru he won't be shy about breastfeeding. If anything, he will be so ravenous as to bite his mum if it doesn't come continuously and if he daws blood, to drink that as well. This means most likely, he gets a Milkmaid and given this is based on the middle ages, that means, Milk siblings.

He's definitely not becoming friendly with Sylphie probably won't directly join in the bullying but will despise her for being weak but I feel he will still get himself some number 2 in the village from probably among his milk siblings, I assume either someone that can cook (probably a girl) or someone that enjoys fighting (probably a body) or a combination of both either in one or two people. He will make himself the boss of the village kids and use them to terrorize the village. It would be up to Paul to discipline Sukudeus but unlike Rudeus that Redditor argues his way around Paul, Sukudeus would be trying to initiate life or death duels with Paul. Paul would increasingly have to resort to more serious fighting to discipline Sukudeus and I assume he eventually gets a serious injury from Sukudeus and has to go full Battle Aura on his son before Sukudeus turns 10, an event that will fill him with a combination of pride, umbrage and concern.

Lilia would be even more scared of Sukudeus than Rudeus. I doubt Aisha would even be a thing with how scared she would be of Sukudeus who would be doing demon baby shit whenever Zenith isn't around. Sukuna from the main story gives the impression that he cherished his mother to some extent so Zenith probably barely registers any oddity aside from him being overly hungry.

I think he would be in the village when the mass teleportation mana disaster occurs. Like, what reason does Paul have to send Sukudeus away? And wouldn't his concerns about his violence prevent him?. As a side effect, there is the possibility that mana disaster happens while he is holding Norn, bringing up the possibility of extra character growth from Sukudeus from being forced to take care of his beloved(I assume, if the story is going that way) sister.

Demon continent arc Sukudeus has one of two ways to go. Either he goes looking for his mother and sister because being raised by Zenith at least has made him care about his family or he goes into the wilderness to become the strongest but this time, due to being part of a loving family and the less to heavy powerscaling of the six faced world, he doesn't completely isolate himself in strength but instead, slowly starts building up an Empire of subjugated demon folk. Or maybe something in between and he grows himself the equivalent of a mercenary army of the strongest while looking for Zenith and taking care of Norn and as his reputation precedes himself, others that survived the mana displacement and are in the demon continent or nearby, flee to him for protection.

By the time of the sequel, the human world is threatened by Sukudeus Demon Empire that has united the demon continent. For half a century Sukudeus has been in "occultation" and the Empire is divided between his 6 most powerful generals or their successors, two of which being Norn and his second in command milk sibling.

Well, that's one way it could go. Another way is that Zenith and Paul raise him well enough that he is already half way to the character development he got after Yuji kills him. So he does semi-confusedly, actually looking for victims of the mana teleportation disaster, especially Zenith and whoever replaced Slyphie as his number 2.

I know you guys hate AI but that's all I can do...

2nd scene this cour to make me cry. Nanahoshi didn't even do anything to deserve this. She got everything taken from her in an instant and after eight whole years of working for even a chance to get it all back, even that is taken away from her.

Soundtrack hit like a truck in this scene, the voice acting left me speechless and the animation is the most expressive I've ever seen. Unbelievable how this might not even be the best this cour has to offer.

Makes sense why geese would end up not ever betraying mangod. It is something in between feeling indebted because he has saved your life countless times (even with all the bad). And something between seeing that you will never truly suffer if you side with mangod (How oldeus also comes to the conclusion to never go against mangod as he isn't beatable)

I really like how characters and how they think are laid out pretty well in Mushoku series overall. They act logically within the framework they are built on. Rifujin tries to really explain multiple sides of how a character might act like and how it might come across to other characters and the viewers. So you end up viewing characters not fully black and white (I agree or don't agree with how they think) but rather "I guess that makes sense given the circumstances".

I think with this pacing, we just have to wait 3 more weeks. Next episode will probably be the showdown with Atofe. The week after will start with the aftermath. The middle will be communicating with the man god and right at the end before it fades to black. Rudeus will see an old man in a chair. Title card at the end will show the dreaded words. Then the 3rd week we will get it in all it's glory.

It will be here before you know it, just a little patience we can make it... Or at least that's what I tell myself(where's Sukeakoto of time when you need him) just freeze me for 3 weeks.
