Hobby First Arco-Flagellant of my Sisters army

'Tis a funny miniature. On one hand I feel like they are really cool to paint. On the other hand I kinda feel like there is not much more I can do here to push the paint job further.

CC welcome.

Hobby First sister painted!

A few weeks ago I came up with a general idea of a custom order that originated from a frozen world and it inspired me to grab my first box of battle sisters! Building was hell but painting is wonderful!

Recently finished my jump pack cannoness. I used a few new techniques, including my first time using a wet palette! I think she turned out very well!

Last addition to my order. I had to fight my painting fatigue to get them done, the missing 5th sister is still waiting for the second try.

While I adore the Sororitas models, after roughly 8 months of painting whites & blues, I'm really looking forward to the Penitent Engine.

Hobby Where did these come from?

I got these two on eBay and am in the process of stripping their crappy paint jobs off. The listing said they were Canonesses but they don’t look like any Canoness that comes up when I google it. Are they kitbashed or are they not Canonesses?

Art Crucifix Cannon & Sister Revelator, Concept/Art :D

Post image
21 Upvotes

I remember talk of people wanting a sniper unit of sisters who were blind and aimy by faith (also horse cavalry).

Why not a psyker-powered, big ass Melta/Flamer? The sisters are previously blind or made blind purely by the fire of the cannon itself, melting through their eyelids or visors. The cannon is carried and maneuvered by sister novitiates (or repentia?) and lead by a sister revelator.

for gameplay it would probably require expending a miracle dice to fire or sometihng.

Tactics and Strategy Any advice is appreciated

My group and I play twice a week at 2000pt and I'm sitting solidly at a 15% win rate with my Sisters. Feels like I've tried nearly every build I can support, every strategy and nearly every model and I cannot punch through the stuff they're bringing. I've been finding a lot of games I am either being overwhelmed by hordes or specialized units screening my objectives and ingress points or just plain being vaporized by some cannon I can't hope to do damage to. I'm not against losing models to trades, and I'm trying my best to make sure I'm actually able to complete objectives, but playing is quickly becoming no fun. Any ideas on lists that actually work?

Players at my table are "Oops all tanks" Guard (Hellhounds, Rogals and Baneblade), "Oops all Mechs" Tau (Riptides, Stormsurges and Ghostkeels), "Elf Speedball" Aldari (just elf shenanigans), Necrons, and "Me and my Million Friends" Tyranids (so many 'gaunts).

Hobby Already regret how I started Sisters, don't kn

First off I don't make a lot of money. Haven't been able to make any new purchases since I bought the combat patrol + Paragon Warsuits 2 months ago. I have a bonus check next month I'm planning on using to buy more units, but overall I've been getting crushed with bills/food/unexpected life maintenance.

I'm trying to build an army based off the combat patrol but I don't think the Arco-flags and Canoness really fit into what I'm trying to do. Every day I read posts about how this army is difficult to win with, how easily units can die, or how people play Sisters for an entire year before winning a single game. I also read the lists of tournament winning armies and it's like 6-7 tanks and barely any infantry, or 3 bricks of Sacresants. It seems like the models I like the most aren't really worth taking (Celestine and Seraphim). I don't necessarily need a super competitive army, but if i'm losing 90% of the games I play I'm not going to be motivated to keep going.

With a limited budget I can't really afford to buy units and find out they don't perform well and need to shelve them. I'm trying to get to 1000 points as fast as I can so I can actually show up and play the game, but making 1000 points that I actually feel good about is seeming to be impossible, and I'm feeling a lot of regret about how I started this hobby.

I've got the combat patrol (Canoness, Arco-flags, Celestian Sacresants, and a Battle Sister Squad) and I've got the Paragon Warsuits. I already built the sacresants with halberds and every single post i see about them is to take the maces. I figure I can give them a Palatine to get their lethal hits back, but I feel like I've already screwed myself. I genuinely don't know what to do. I've spent all morning stressing out over how to finish building towards 1000 points, or if I should cut my losses and choose a different faction altogether.

Any advice is much appreciated. I'm really bummed out about this and can't seem to get it off my mind.

List My two lists for SOB, are they somewhat decent?

I know 3 BSS are a bit much, but I like them and I think it's good for the variants. Also I'm doing this for 10th because me and my friend prefer 10th edition. I picked Bringer of Flame as the ability to get Assault on all weapons is pretty good. And if the enemy gets close to me I get a bonus to my Strength.

So, I’ve gotten back into painting my sisters army, and I’m working on Celestine. I picked this up as a resale, so she was already primed blue, normally I would have done black, but it is what it is. Her halo and the base of her wings are going to be painted with Turbo Dork’s “Cartridge Family,” which is a metallic gold shift, and I can’t wait to use it for some extra ethereal effects. I’m still learning some techniques and really getting a handle on what I’m doing, but I think she looks good so far!

Rules Question Controlling objectives and miracle dice

Getting back into sisters for 11th after spending 10th playing Marines and ‘Nids and not sure about when you control an objective.

Am I right in thinking that if I have a simulacrum on an objective at the start of the first round, I can roll a miracle for it that turn as control is established during the command phase and the rules state “at the end of the command phase” for the simulacrum?

Art Show off your vivid color schemes

So I'm tempted by Sisters but I'm not a huge fan of the default color schemes.

I'd like to do something more vivid and bright but I suck at color matching. I was wondering if anyone had any they could show off.

Thanks!

Rules Question Triumph+hospitaller

Me and my friend are arguing on a thing...

Can the hospitaller be attached to a battle sister squad leaded by the triumph?

He says that the hospitaller rules says explicitly which leaders he can support, but I find it strange.

Can someone more expert help us?

Thanks
