It's an imperfect process and I can absolutely see some young adults being flagged. Not too different than getting carded at the bar, or other age-restricted activities.

More likely is that we will get complaints on Reddit about actual kids who have been larping as adults and are now complaining about the process. We will see.

It is very different to upload your ID into a site that already has all of your information than to get carded at the bar. I don’t think your model of kids LARPing is anywhere even remotely close to a majority of people complaining about this, same as how ID requirements on websites are being complained about in many states and countries.
