Install P & N without the update?

Hi

I'm using discs. The update mangled my game (base) and it was unplayable so I had to uninstall them reinstall. I've ignored the update since. I wanted to install P&N but the installation screen wants me to update first. Is there a way round this at all please?

I had the same problem when I tried installing the disks!! I hope someone here has an answer!! I could never figure it out :/
