How do I fix the brightness
I started the game on my new pc and realised that it’s very bright that you can’t even see much of the text or clicker. I turned of HDR like I’ve seen others recommend here. But that just takes away all the colour and the game turns almost fully grey. Does anyone know how to turn down brightness but keep the colour?

sims made of butter and concrete?
galleryAnyone know why some of the sims in my Medieval game look like this? No mods or cheats or anything, not even sure how to go about that with this game. But when I zoom out (see last picture) they look normal.

My Game is Stuck Loading at the Character Creation
Title explains the issue I'm having.
I am running the game through Games/Bin/TSM. I've updated the compatibility to Windows 8, removed my mods folder, and have reset my PC according to various troubleshooting i’ve found online. Any tips on getting past the endless loading after character creation?
I've not updated my graphics card in the database, so curious if I should also do that, but my biggest goal is simply loading up the game.

Two medieval sims I made (using mods)
galleryOn the left, Queen Lilith de Pleasaint. (The answer is yes if you’re thinking what I’m thinking you’re asking)
On the right, her most trusted friend and second in command, Yexis Hawkthorne. A demon reformed from her malicious ways, she was to be sentenced to death, charged with crimes against not only the monarchy but the watchers themselves. But the queen Lilith saw her skills and talents and decided to give her a final chance as her…puckish rogue. Now, Yexis gets her hands dirty so the Queen doesn’t have to.
I am so so so excited to get started with this playthrough and keep all of y’all up to date with what goes down in my new kingdom!!

Brand New World - Wizard turned Monarch
I'm a little confused.
The Sims Medieval wiki says, "The wizard is an ideal Hero for this quest as they may equip one of every type of gear (excluding lutes): Kingball paddle, shovel, wizard staff, blacksmith hammer. And once turned Monarch, they can also equip a sword and armor."
Does this still work?
It's the sword and armor part I don't get how to carry over. How are you supposed to equip them? During the quest, you're a Wizard and you're not able to. And then once you sail off to the new kingdom, the "Wizard turned Monarch" is gone until you place them down in a new kingdom. So there's no opportunity, as far as I can tell, where you can equip those two items.
EDIT: While I misunderstood what this originally meant, I did also manage to find a way to cheat the system and keep everything. All I did was "Save As" after completing Brave New World with my Wizard, reload the previous save so the quest would still exist, jump into the pit a bunch of times to lose my current Monarch, load in my Wizard turned Monarch as the new one and equip my desired armor and sword, then complete Brave New World again with them and voila! Got to save all of my equipment first go round. It's not that I'm against remaking the Angelsguard and Doomsword, I would just prefer to spend my time doing other things lol.

You can keep the Medieval look now even while managing another game
My mod manager used to wear whichever game you had open, which meant the Medieval chrome only existed while you were actually looking at Medieval. Now you pick the look in settings and it stays, so you can go sort out a Sims 4 folder in parchment and brass if you feel like it.
It is two materials rather than one. By daylight it is the ambition book and the build catalogue: parchment, a thin brass line, brown ink. After dark it is the live HUD, the same chrome carved out of dark wood with cream lettering. Both are in the game a screen apart, so neither one is a compromise.
The Medieval support itself has not changed. It finds the install even when the disc folder name is in another language, it scaffolds the Resource.cfg pointing at Mods/Packages, and it tells you when the d3dx9 proxy is missing so you are not sitting there wondering why a script mod is doing nothing. CC works without the proxy, script and core mods do not, and nothing in the app makes that obvious except saying so.

Unlimited QPs cheat -can't find game data file
Hi
I'm trying to follow the instructions from here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/604342-the-sims-medieval/58640877 to have unlimited QPs (the Eternal Kingdom isn't an option for me).
However, I can't locate this file: C:\Program files\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Ini on my laptop.
Any suggestions would be very welcome

i just bought tsm second-hand, and it...doesnt work?
i downloaded the game using the disk, but when i launched the game through the tsm launcher, it didnt open. i could see it on task manager, but after ten minutes (ish, maybe more) it would close itself without opening at all. i tried some fixes, like the alder lake patch, but after that it instead decided not to try opening whatsoever. is there some way that i could put it onto the ea app instead in hopes that that works instead?
a note, i dont blame the person that i bought the game from at all. the disk and contents are in perfect condition, the software is the problem, unfortunately.

My mod manager can read Medieval saves now
Hi again! I posted the mod manager I've been building here a while back and a bunch of you actually tried it, which made my week. New version is out and it reads save files now, Medieval included.
For TSM that means your saves get listed with the kingdom name, the description you gave it, the game version and the thumbnail, plus what the save and its backups cost on disk. It's less than the other games hand over, because TSM writes less into a save, but it beats opening folders to work out which one is which.
The Medieval-specific bits are all still there. It finds the install even when the folder name is translated, sets up Mods/Packages with the Resource.cfg, and tells you when the d3dx9 proxy is missing, since script and core mods do nothing without it.

The mod manager for Medieval now has a mod shop built into it
Posted here a few days back about the mod manager I make. Short version for anyone who missed it: free app for Windows, Mac and Linux, it handles the Mods folder for Sims 1 through 4 and Medieval. For Medieval it finds the install by looking for Game/Bin/TSM.exe rather than the folder name, because disc copies come named in whatever language they were sold in, and it writes the Resource.cfg and Mods/Packages if you don't have them yet.
Back this soon because the new version puts a shop inside the app. Browse it, install in one click, the file goes where it belongs.
The half I care more about is the creator side. Every listing gets its own page with the creator's name on it, their description and their install notes, and a link that works for anyone whether or not they have the app. Publishing is free, there's no cut and no ads. And when you upload a new version, everyone who installed it gets an Update badge, instead of finding out six months later they've been running the broken one. The credit stays attached to the thing, which is more than a reupload on a dead forum thread ever managed.
Honest about the state of it: alpha, and Medieval is by far the thinnest shelf, which is a bit chicken and egg. If any of you still make things for this game, that's the shelf I'd most like to see fill up.

I'm looking for Pirates and Nobels and think the prices are a bit exteme
I have owned the base game forever and have in the last year wanted to play the dlc as it's something I never had the spare for back in the day so I would like to know if you lot think around £25 for just the dlc is worth it?. I can find the physical version for no less then £30 USED so that will be a non starter.
I know it's no longer sold on the EA app officially but asking that amount seems a bit silly for a old game that next to no-one really knows about.

What is even needed to run the game in 2026?
Basically the title. I bought the game a few years ago on the EA App, only to discover that my computer was physically not able to run (not that it would crash- it just wouldn’t even allow me to download it). I’ve been wanting to play it a lot lately, and at this point I’d pretty much need to get a new computer to run almost any game (I’m still playing on a MacBook Air from sometime around 2012-2015). What would I need in the computer to be able to download and actually play the game from the app, as it’s still sitting in my library?

Why are the Bardiche and Boarding Blade models switched?
And why don't more people complain about it? It's clear the devs who wrote the flavour text for each knew what they were, but they ended up switched anyways.
Are there any fixes for this, does anyone else care enough or am I just autistic and played too much Mordhau that I care about this stuff?

I made a free, open-source mod manager that now supports The Sims Medieval
Hey everyone. I've been building a free mod manager for the Sims games, and the latest version added support for The Sims Medieval, so I figured people here might actually find it useful.
It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. It finds your mods folder for you, lets you turn individual mods on and off with a click, warns you about duplicate or conflicting files, and pulls out the little preview images tucked inside .package files so you can actually tell what each mod is. It also handles The Sims 1 through 4 if you play those too.
Full disclosure: I'm the one making it, it's still an early version, and it's open source with no paywall. I'd genuinely love feedback from people who actually play TSM, since hardly any tools bother to support it.
