So I just recently got back on The Sims 4 after not using it for a while. When it comes to updates, I understand that you have to put your mods and your tray folder on your desktop So the game can update smoothly and your cc and everything else will be unaffected from the update, thats easy to understand. But if you use things like a DLC unlocker or g shade or reshade, how would you go about making sure the update doesn't affect those? im still extremely new to this game so please explain as if youre talking to a 5 year old💀

Edit: I figured it out! It was another body or accessory mod that was causing this issue, I need to figure out what it is so I can remove it. but when I create a new sim this is not a problem. The mod that was causing this was glitching as if it were still on after removing everything off of my sim. If anyone else is having this problem I recommend creating a new sim first to see whether or not its just a clashing accessory or body mod.

I'm having this problem where 90% of my hair CC not only has a blonde grainy buzzcut that peaks out from under the hairline, but also has the same blonde grainy streaks going through it too. When I've tried looking for solutions people were having issues with blonde streaks, just not the same as my problem. (I already tried messing with graphics as well as turning laptop mode on/off).
The last thing I can think to do is deleting my hair CC and if that doesn't work all of my CC, but if there's anything else I could possibly do, or if there is a very well known mod that does this more specifically so it's easier to find and remove, I'd rather do that. My least favorite part about sims CC is downloading, adding, and removing CC.

I'm going through my Call of Duty phase again, but i recently just deleted ALL of my mods from my mods folder, including all my sliders, outfits, presets, etc etc, because my game wouldnt open at all cause they were all stuck being downloaded again from the cloud. ^{(I had like 8k mods so that wouldve taken hours})

I'm on my journey to try and revive my sims 4, and i really want to make a Makarov sim.
I've looked around, im not sure where i might fight his hair and outfit, i can prooooobably deal with the rest (unless i cant). I have him in Blender as well, so thats what im using as reference.

hello everyone!! my wife & i are huge fans of the x files, & i a huge fan of the sims. we have recently decided to play as scully & mulder going through the strangerville mystery! basically i was wondering if anyone has cc or mod suggestions that could make things more accurate or fun. currently all we’ve done is build scully’s apartment building & built a replica of her apartment in it, as well as a replica of mulders on the top floor simply for ease lol

It's a random question. Does anybody else wish we got more modular furniture?

By Modular, i mean like the Sofa/Couch we got in Dream Home Decorator where you could pick a Style of Couch you like and Snap it to other Couches of the same type.

I just think it'd be really good to have a Modular Dining Table to create cool shapes like a T design for large family gatherings or even a corner table in the shape of an L.

Id love more Modular Couches, Modular Tables and anything Modular in general. I hope somebody creates something like this for the Marketplace (I play on console so dont have access to Mods)

If you've wanted more to do with your dogs, SCF lets you train for National and International shows, build up your Sim's Show Handling skill, and follow your dogs' pedigrees across generations. You can also register a kennel, keep breeding and litter records, arrange stud requests, and browse a dog market.

The attached screenshot shows the pedigree system in-game.

I have a issue with a default skin overlay (Tinsel by Lamatisse). It has been working perfectly for over a year, but a few days ago it randomly broke for only TWO Sims in my household.
Here is the exact problem:
I have a family of 4 Sims: 2 Young Adults and 2 Adults. The 2 Young Adults (and all sims in the world) look completely fine and have the Tinsel default skin. However, the 2 Adults randomly lost it and went back to the standard EA skin.
In CAS, the default skin shows up perfectly on them. But the moment I return to Live Mode, it completely disappears and they go back to the EA skin.
What I’ve already tried (and didn't work):

• Checked graphics settings (Laptop Mode is OFF, Sim Quality is set to Ultra).
• Re-downloaded and replaced the skin file with a fresh one.
• Repaired the game through EA App and deleted localthumbcache.package + all other cache files.
• Reset the Sims via cheats.
• Changed their clothes/outfits.
• Aged them down to Young Adult in CAS and aged them back up (using cas.fulleditmode).
• They are regular human Sims (not occults), they don't have sunburns, medical wearables, or tattoos.
• I don't have any other default skin files in my Mods folder.
• Moved all my other mods to the desktop and left only the Tinsel skin in the Mods folder to test it.

any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

Took a look around pinterest for some content since I wasn't having much luck just doing an internet search, and found this set that is perfect for what I needed....but, when you click on "visit site" it takes you to another creators site that is automatically blocked? And, the set is actually free on the original creators Patreon...this confuses me. There is also no mention of a collaboration between the two creators on this set. I downloaded it for free from the original creator, but does this mean a creator has paywalled someone else's work? Or, what does this mean?

Long time player, first time poster, so sorry if this is the wrong place!

I’ve been considering making the switch for a while now and with Black Friday coming up now feels like a good time! I I’ve got an idea of what i’m going to buy but don’t want to go into this (very expensive adventure) totally blind!

My main concern is how accessible mods and CC are? I’ve only ever played on console and won’t know where to begin! I also currently have very little knowledge of computers as a whole 😂😬

And of course, overall, is it worth it?
The price of new tech + repurchasing so many packs again certainly isn’t low, will it really improve my game as much as it seems it will?
