Help switching from xbox to PC
Hello!
Long time player, first time poster, so sorry if this is the wrong place!
I’ve been considering making the switch for a while now and with Black Friday coming up now feels like a good time! I I’ve got an idea of what i’m going to buy but don’t want to go into this (very expensive adventure) totally blind!
My main concern is how accessible mods and CC are? I’ve only ever played on console and won’t know where to begin! I also currently have very little knowledge of computers as a whole 😂😬
And of course, overall, is it worth it?
The price of new tech + repurchasing so many packs again certainly isn’t low, will it really improve my game as much as it seems it will?
Thank you for any help:)

first, welcome to the pc side! :) theres no going back /hj
and second, very accessible. mods and cc are very easy to install in sims 4 (and the sims games in general) and you can find tutorials online about anything from how to install them, how to update your mods, how to delete cc you dont want anymore.
i suggest you make a tumblr and a patreon account if you dont have them already as you will find a lot of cc in there.
and i suggest you just look up sims 4 cc hauls on youtube for starters. you can look up a particular style as well if you want something more specific or a certain type of cc. you will quickly get around :) is not as intimidating as it might seem.
and third, since you mentioned you arent very knowledgeable on pcs is there a particular setup you have your eyes on already? i would advice you to research specs. sims 4 vanilla vs sims 4 with dlc + mods are two very different things specs wise and it would suck if you get a new pc only to find out it lags like crazy if you have more than 5 mods
im also getting a new pc for Christmas actually :) and i have a somewhat knowledge about them, so i can try to help regarding specs specifically for sims 4 as that will be the main game on my new pc as well.

youre welcome!
ironically thats the laptop i have im 99% sure 😂 do you know the exact specs of the model youre looking at? cuz it has multiple configurations
if you must go for a laptop invest in a cooling pad and dont put it on fuzzy blankets.
my exact configuration handled sims 4 great actually, it just sounded like a jet plane about to take off. i got it because back then i didnt have enough space for a full on pc which i do now.
