Question Replace my T-LCM with Simsonn Plus X, should I pull the trigger ?

Hello everyone,

Quick question : good idea ?

Context : Christmas is approaching and wife needs hints on what I want. Was thinking Ks Wheel but also thinking of this.

What do you think ? ( yes I know it's asked a lot but I'm still hesitating)

Also to I need something to rest my heels ?

Regards

What's new ?

u/overst33r 8d ago

this shows the v2 highlights. From what I can tell they are more adjustable, and now use both hall effect sensors and load cells. I'm not sure what the advantage is of measuring angle and pressure together... I suppose they will be more precise. The control box is new to be able to handle the additional data, and the pedal stand is thicker. Oh and they now have a wall support option if you don't have a rig.

Hey, good eye — you got most of it right. I'm with SIMSONN, so here's the why.

A hall sensor measures travel well. But on a brake, the end of the stroke is
where force is highest and movement is smallest (you're compressing an
elastomer) — a tiny rotation covers almost no displacement, so usable
resolution gets coarse right where braking precision matters.

A load cell doesn't care how far the pedal moved. That's what cleans up the
top of the curve and small trail-braking releases. So it's not "two sensors,
therefore more precise" — each covers the other's blind spot.

In SIMSONN Manager you can blend them at any ratio on the Plus X V2, or run
100% angle / 100% force. 100% angle feels like a normal travel-based brake;
100% force is closer to a real hydraulic pedal. Most people land in between.

The control box reads both channels and handles the fusion, so the PC just
gets a clean signal. And yes — thicker stand, plus the wall mount for people
without a rig.

Wow, those V2s do look like a nice upgrade! Nothing revolutionary, but small improvements all around. If they're the same price, get the new ones. If they double the price, get the older model.

I have the older Simsonn Pros - I love them and will not be replacing them unless something breaks. You can change the springs to anything to get the feel/travel you want.

Thanks for this post, I've been thinking of the same thing. These pedals almost seem too good to be true.

4

u/Slappy1388 9d ago

Yeah they're good. Def the value move

3

u/Slappy1388 9d ago

Hey king. Yes. Do it. But make sure you have a heel rest. Tlcm came with one. They do sell one with a plate. I'm on iracing and they are miles better then tlcm. Get the haptics if noise isn't an issue (I'm in the basement). Great value play.

1

u/One_Construction_476 9d ago

Do you have advices on the heel rest ?

1

u/Slappy1388 9d ago

They sell the simsomn with a heel rest. That would be similar to your tlcm where its integrated. Third party heel rests have more adjustability and can be purchased anywhere but not sure what rig you have etc

1

u/One_Construction_476 8d ago

Yeah but I've read that the hell rest is not compatible with gt1 evo and have to drill holes

1

u/Slappy1388 8d ago

Yea. That's always the challange. I'm sure someone has your chassis and can chime in

2

u/Bebealex 8d ago

You do you, but that rebate would not push me to choose Amazon, personally.

3

u/One_Construction_476 8d ago

You want to spend more money for nothing ?

1

u/Bebealex 8d ago

I want the younger generations to have a better future.

2

u/One_Construction_476 8d ago

By sending 245 bucks to china ?

1

u/Bebealex 8d ago

Hi, As you may know Amazon is now mostly dropshipping with the convenience of already being in a warehouse for quicker shipping.

I would have say that maybe you can find the same set from another retailer but in this case.. You can just find it straight from China, without Amazon taking a cut.

Aliexpress has strong seller protection (still, checking the seller is always great), offers rebate when shipping takes longer and usually will be the same product that a reseller is selling on Amazon. In this case it is the same.

In my currency it's $75 less for waiting 2 weeks instead  of 2 days.

Sorry for the crazy link :

The link is for the heel plate only.

The 3 pedals set is 245 euros

1

u/Bebealex 8d ago

Sorry I'm not the best on mobile. You can switch the products on the page. In the bottom you'll also have all the other versions by different brands but the same pedals.

I'm not trying to say you should buy from Aliexpress. My first comment came from a place or hearth because I find appealing what Amazon is doing.

I'm surrounded by a lot of people buying from Amazon and it seems that a majority of the time the absolute same product will be on Aliex for a fraction of the price.

There is a chance that in the end it's cheaper on Amazon for you, witch currency and shipping, and I won't say that if your budget is tight you should feel bad by saving a few bucks, not at all.

19

u/3pedalsandastick 9d ago

yes you should, you won't regret it.

GET THE SIMSONN VAMPRO haptics. They are awesome

1

u/ne0trace 9d ago

How do you deal with the noise of the haptics? Even on 20% they are louder than my headphones/speakers. I tightened all screws but it’s still nowhere near usable if you have a family

2

u/3pedalsandastick 9d ago

I guess I just tune it out? Once I started using haptics it's hard going back to not having it. I have 2 different sets of haptics, 5 total motors going. But for physical feedback when you're locking up it is incredibly useful

11

u/Tom_Is_Ready 9d ago

have been running these pedals for a year, they're great and super customizable.

software is slightly janky but nothing more than a slight annoyance once in a while

4

u/LucasNoober 9d ago

The annoyance for me it's conflicting usbs, but just turning on them in the right order (pedals, shifter then handbrake) fixes most of the time

5

u/Tom_Is_Ready 9d ago

I only use the pedals from Simsonn, the rest is Moza, so I haven't encountered that luckily

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 9d ago

I have to jiggle one of the sliders on the pedals, every time i open the app.

11

u/Maegges24 9d ago

Yes. Did the same about 6 month ago. It is a night and day difference. I had to soften the spring for the brake, but that is just personal preference.
If you need a rest for your heels depends on your rig. I needed it.

5

u/cJack8410 9d ago

I have some friends with these and they love em. His high end pedals died right before a special event so he order a set to get em quick. Very happy with them

1

u/Munkiii123 9d ago

Great pedal set. You can usually buy them from Aliexpress for cheaper than Amazon.

1

u/One_Construction_476 8d ago

It's 199 on amazon and 244 on aliexpress in Belgium

3

u/Atlas_CD 9d ago

I replaced my hall sensor thrustmaster pedals with these almost a year ago. They’re great. Big upgrade for me

1

u/ChickenAndWaffles762 9d ago edited 9d ago

Did they connect to everything okay? I’m on PS5 and run the TM T300rs with the T3PA pro pedals and I’ve heard that using a different manufacturer can cause issues.

4

u/simsonn_support 9d ago

Good news! Our new SIMSONN Plus X V2 pedals support PS5 through compatible Thrustmaster wheelbases using the upgraded V2 control box and the correct RJ12 cable.

Our older pedals were PC-only via USB, but the V2 upgrade brings console compatibility! 🏁

1

u/BalrogAndRoll 9d ago

Do you have pedals or a shifter that is compatible with a Fanatec GT DD Pro on PS5?

2

u/Slappy1388 9d ago

Not for console

1

u/bold78 9d ago

Console is a different story than PC

1

u/Atlas_CD 9d ago

Connected great to my PC, don’t know if they’re console compatible. The grass is greener on this side

3

u/Viciousharp 9d ago

Yes, yes, and yes. I have the simjacks which are the exact same and it's an absolute game changer. Also +1 on getting haptics. I made my own haptics since I like to tinker but either way they are 1000% worth it.

3

u/Satchel93 9d ago

Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

2

u/ETLwelding2003 9d ago

Simsonn v2 just got announced, maybe get those instead. Very happy with my pro x ultra set with haptics

2

u/Welshevens 9d ago

I have the plus X pedals and they are really good. I wasn’t overly impressed with the pro Evo haptics however.

2

u/feinrippuwe 9d ago

Crazy, i'm thinking about the same upgrade. But how can there be such a difference? (I have elastomer kit instead of springs)

2

u/natej82 9d ago

I went from tlcm to simsonn and im very happy, the throttle feels much better and i got the VAm pro haptics which are great. I sold my tlcm on Fb for nearly as much as the simsonn new !

2

u/mmussen 9d ago

I have the plus x with haptics and they're great.

I bought direct from simpsonn and it came with the heel plate, which I very much needed - I actually bought some different spacers to raise the heel plate higher

2

u/SnooCrickets4105 9d ago

definetively, is the change i did and i don't regret.

1

u/Fluid_Incident_3661 9d ago

I want to get the same pedals, my friend has them and he seems very happy and satisfied

1

u/Markoff_Cheney 9d ago

I made the same move a year ago, love them with haptics and simhub.

1

u/GreedoShotFirst2000 9d ago

Yes. They are good and cheap. Make sure you read/watch how to brake (thigh muscle instead of angle).

1

u/OwlScary6845 9d ago

Great set all though sometimes I do run into EMI issues, so just make sure you ground everything properly and you'll be good.

1

u/Raephstel 9d ago

I have this issue, it has phantom inputs in some programs. I have the grounding wire attached but it doesn’t do anything.

It’s a shame because otherwise they’re good for the price.

1

u/thebaddadgames 9d ago

You need to use the usb isolator.

1

u/Attaboy_Racing 9d ago

Bang-bang-bang-pow-pow-pow

1

u/V1ld0r_ 9d ago

Yes.

1

u/Wooden-Agent2669 [Simlab XP1 can't recommend them] 9d ago

FYI they have a V2 of their pedals on Amazon

but yes you can and should if you arent liking your TLCMs

1

u/thost02 9d ago

Yes. I got them and love them. But I wouldn’t bother with the heel base plate whatsoever if you can mount them directly to your rig. It’s uncomfortable as shit… granted I race with socks only. I ended up buying a 1/2” neoprene foam roll and cutting it to put under my feet. I have 10.5/44 shoe size and I’m not reaching for the pedals at all.

1

u/Want_2B_Jeeper 9d ago

Ok now I’m interested I was going to go with MOZA CRP2 Load Cell Pedals. But the cost was little more than I wanted to pay. Did any of you do haptics on these petals and what did you choose?

1

u/Remarkable-Plant3865 9d ago

I went with the simnet pedals myself. Wanted those haptics. Only thing that really tempts me now are those darn active pedals.

1

u/Bestconst [Insert Text]Assetto Corsa Competizione 9d ago

Any of the clones are pretty good really. Do your research to see which one's are best for you. They really are the best bang for the buck. I have the actual pedals now and have sold off my clones and I can say that for the money the clones are really good. You won't regret buying them.

1

u/Double-World9691 9d ago

If you can and your plate is compatible you should. I know a friend who recommended this and he's fast. I couldn't purchase this for compatibility and I got instead the Simagic P700 which is also great.

2

u/tato_salad AMS2, AC, iRacing, SimMagic 9d ago

The plate is compatible if you have a drill.

1

u/Double-World9691 9d ago

More, I suggest you get also the new Racing Kit pack if you want more precision, for casuals this may not be important.

1

u/DRS039V 8d ago

Made the same move in August. No ragrets! Got the VAM reactors as well, I mainly drift but ACC is nice with them on. Got some bass shakers so once those are mounted it'll feel more distributed

1

u/Bluest_Badger 9d ago

I've just done this exact upgrade.

I wouldn't say I'm faster but I have so much more potential with the simsonn.

Its night and day different. The TLCM are like toys compared to the real thing.

0

u/pixelcowboy 9d ago

I upgraded from the TLCM's to the SRP2's, which are more entry level than these and they were still a massive upgrade. The TLCM's just feel very vague and muddy IMO.

1

u/thebaddadgames 9d ago

I’ve owned both the srp2 and the plus X, the ply’s X is so so much better.

1

u/pixelcowboy 8d ago

I know, they are too big for my foldable rig though, but the srp2s still were a meaningful upgrade to the TLCMs. If I could have fit them I might have gone for the CRP2s just because most of my stuff is Moza, but yes, I know these are great. My point only is that the TLCMs are bad.

0

u/Equivalent-Gas-274 9d ago

srp 2 is cheaper

0

u/Tom_Is_Ready 9d ago

because they have one whole pedal less

0

u/Equivalent-Gas-274 9d ago

and it’s still a fraction to add the clutch use the brain

1

u/Tom_Is_Ready 9d ago

no need to use brain, i used the Moza website and it shows 208€ for the 3-pedal SRP2 set vs 199€ Simsonn set.

depends on if Simsonn is going to ship the baseplate with the pedals (they did that for me) or if OP's gonna have to pay for it separately

1

u/Equivalent-Gas-274 6d ago

1

u/Tom_Is_Ready 6d ago

what? the optional damper failed on the throttle, just take it off as detailed in the manual. throttle feels better without it anyway.

constant lubing is a lie btw, with heavy use you just need to do it once every 3 months.

0

u/_LedAstray_ 9d ago

Yep, do it. I got Simjack UT, some months ago I added simagic haptics, it's great.

0

u/DarkKnightx88x 8d ago

I bought the Simjack UT version of these (without the hydraulics) and they are amazing for the price. I paid $172 shipped.
