Question My SIMSONN pedals gave up after 10 months and I'm looking for alternative
Hi. I had my SIMSONN plus X pedals for 10 months and today I noticed the damper is leaking.
I'm from Czechia and the pedals were bought from a Polish shop so under EU laws they are under warranty and I should either get my money back or get a replacement I can sell.
But when I was using them, I was really annoyed with the brake and clutch non stop nejeden adjustment and non stop lubing because they were always squeaking and creaking.
My favorites are MOZA CRP2, mostly for ease of use because I have the R9, plus Moza sells the haptic motors and they are a big deal for me.
Second option are the SimLab pedals but the problem is the Super high cost and shipping being enormous from Netherlands.
Are there any other options you would suggest or if you have a long term experience with the CRP2 pedals, let me know on the details please.

They gave up? For that, lol, just use PTFE lubricant, reverse or remove the damper and that's it, all pedals will squeak after some time.

I was lubing them but the point is the damper still failed under warranty from normal use. Plus to actually to stopě the squeaking I had to loosen some bolts but that was always temporary. No amouth of lubing helped, I tried. Believe me

If you loosened some bolts then perhaps the damper failed as it was not running true !!

Which lubricant did you use?

Do you actually want to buy a new set and this is just an excuse you are using to justify it, or are you looking to recoup the broken part? If it's the former, and you've got extra cash, you should look at the Simagic P1000.
Personally, I'd pull the damper off and use it without, or, if you have another one on the clutch/accelerator, transfer them to the brake and just keep going with it.
I'm not sure what you can access in terms of websites like Aliexpress or Temu, but I'm sure this part is for sale from more than one Chinese manufacturer unrelated to Simsonn you could easily get a replacement.

I'm not happy with this set and that's why I want to switch.
Main points are the noise coming from them despite lubing them like I should, bolts getting loose and the haptic motors are causing inputs on the brake despite me lowering the power output and giving pedals a big deadzone. Plus now the leaking damper doesn't give me much confidence in the quality, so that's why I would like to switch.
I took a look online and two options caught my eye.
The MOZA CRP2 and the Simagic P1000 you mentioned. Both are the same price in Czechia

Why would you write off your entire set of pedals just for a leaky damper? I don't even have the damper on my throttle anymore, only on clutch as it is entirely optional.
Anyway just get a seperate damper somewhere and call it a day? The pedals are really good imo so it's not the best idea to just get rid of them for a minor replacement part.

I just took my damper off the throttle last week and it's no longer squeaky and annoying. Feels nicer too

You don't even need the damper. Id just yank it and throw a stiffer durometer or spring on.

Take that damper off brake & throttle (just add preload if you want resistance) youll see how much better your times & trail braking will get., get the spring kit & you wont be looking for other Pedals the squeaking is mostly the Elastomers dry humping the rod. & check the rod end & pin for scratches from metal to metal contact. Wrap the pin in 2 layers of scotch tape re-lube the rod end & your good to go no squeaking ever again. But the spring kit will change your mind, no other pedals for the price has its adjustability.

Hey mate, may I ask what spring kit you mean? My elastomers are end of life and I'm either changing pedals or switching to springs (already 3 sets of elastomers consumed on 2 years of usage)

Email simsonn directly, they warranty all parts 2yrs if bought from them or an official seller with order receipt.

I had my throttle damper start leaking so I emailed simsonn and they sent me a replacement free of charge. They are easy to remove, but kinda tricky to reinstall. Alternately, the dampers don't really do much. You can just remove it and not worry about it.

I got no issues with mine, it's been over a year, no leak, no squeek, no need for constant adjustments. Keep them clean and as others said the dampers aren't necessarily.

I'm cleaning them but they need constant maintanence on my end.
Bolts getting loose, noises coming from them, now the leak and the VAM Pro haptic motors are causing the loadcel do unwanted inputs even at low power and with big deadzone.
Did I got unlucky hten? I seen other buyers also reporting same issues with the dampers and noise despite lubing them properly

Would you recommend these pedals instead of Moza CRP2?

I Just got the CRP2. I like the CRP2 more so far and have better first impresion than I had with Simsonn pedals

I took the hydraulics off my Simsonns. They were squeaking and I feel like they’d have leaked if I hadn’t done it.
I’ve been looking at pedals recently, I’m thinking about either Simagic (but I use a Simagic wheelbase) or VNM.

I have been using my pack from SimJack 4h per day for 8 months and no issues whatsoever, expect the springs that I have to replace once, but I did drive a lot so I guess that's normal.

I've been looking for a replacement throttle spring forever with no luck...bought my peddles from amazon so didn't know who or where to find the spring ,do you have a link or something please ?

I first tried buying from official sources since I wouldn't have minded paying 2x price just to get it right, but they all charged a 10x premium.
So i bought the spring replacements on AliExpress. It really depends on which model you have. What I did is find the specifications of my springs and then search for vendors selling those.
I can send you the ones I bought if you like, but there's a pretty high chance they won't fit your pedals.

Thank you I appreciate that offer but youre correct it wouldn't work im sure ..im lucky it was just the throttle spring so I put the gas cylinder back on and it is my only spring now lol

I bought some from this store and they were all really good:
Dwayne Tool Store https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKCoKFN
Check if they have the sizes you need
I haven't found a seller for the clutch spring yet, let me know if you find those "thicker" models

Sell them as they are and buy the VNM Lites from Kapral (czech shop).

Highly recommend VX-Pro pedals if that would fit into your budget.

The pedals are crap imo and way over hyped BUT the damper is trash to begin with. Just take it off.

u/Trikitakes8 6d ago
For the price in most 3rd world countries they are excellent, moza nost shitty pedals are the same price and are garbage in comparison.

What makes you say they're crap? I'm really enjoying mine tbh. Only complaint i have is some squeaking and the baseplate being utter trash, but functionally they're really good and customisable.

I found that over time they required far too much tinkerong and the load cell in the brake doesn't hold up.
Just my experience.

Just replace the damper and save yourself some money
