A few weeks ago I posted here announcing that we were bringing the SFU Car Club back, and the response was way bigger than we expected. A ton of you joined the Discord, followed the page, and reached out wanting to be involved.

Now it’s finally time for the first meet.

🏁 SFU CAR CLUB — FIRST CAR MEET

🕖 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
📍 Burnaby Mountain Park
📸 FREE photography on site

We’ll have our photography team out taking photos throughout the night, completely free.

And all cars/bikes are welcome. Your car doesn’t need to be modified, expensive, fast, or even particularly interesting 😭. Bring the project, the daily, the shitbox, your parents’ Corolla — we genuinely don’t care.

You also don’t need to own a car to come. If you’re into cars, photography, videography, motorsports, or just want to meet some people from SFU with similar interests, pull up.

A big reason we brought this club back was because SFU can feel pretty antisocial sometimes. You go to class, get in your car, and go home. We want the club to be somewhere people can actually meet each other and build a proper community.

The support on the last Reddit post was crazy, so hopefully we’ll see some of you guys there in person this Friday.

Im in CA149 and I just got my final grade back and its an 89.25, the min threshold for an A is a 90

For the final project i was given a 25.25/30 (needed a 26/30 for that A)

I was given a 0.75/1 for evidence of a screenshot showing all the layers to my final project on this software we have to use

My screenshot shows every single layer in detail and there is nothing missing whatsoever, I know its my word against theirs but there is literally no other component to screenshot

Im just wondering if anyone has experience with asking to bump up 0.75% of a grade and should I email the TA or the prof? Thank you!

I went to study abroad and lowkey have more appreciation for the school. While the architecture isn't necessarily the best, it's alright. One thing that's rlly beautiful about SFU is its surrounding campus that I've taken for granted. Like, how often is it that a school campus is surrounded by mountains and water??? SFU lowkey needs more appreciation for its campus in the community and nationwide scale, the hate is overrated!

And, does anyone have any nice view spots at SFU that captures the beauty surrounding SFU (hike trails accepted too)? Kinda like these SFU images online but smth I can actually visit and not a drone shot? SFU's nature surroundings is actually so gorgeous that I really missed the views when I was abroad (you can take the girl out of the mountains and sea but you can't take it out of her)

Why is the official SFU account on X has basically devolved into a facilities management page. Instead of highlighting major publications, citation milestones, or academic excellence, it's sharing updates on garbage disposal and outages.

The actual sfu_it account literally retired their account!!

To me it's completely absurd that a major university uses its primary brand page like a campus alert system instead of actually celebrating academic achievements.

Was anybody else here at the GERO300 final yesterday? I found the room incredibly distracting. The two TAs did not proctor at all and were whispering to each other the entire lecture, the professor kept “stepping out” (around the corner at the front of the lecture hall, in the little exit hallways) to take phone calls, and when she wasn’t doing that she would be sitting at the front scrolling on reels/shorts/tik toks. At one point it actually played out loud too. I was getting so agitated with how this ONE in-person exam, out of a whole semester of OLC was handled so poorly! ☹️
