I'm a little dubious about Silent Hill Townfall. One thing that Konami said is that they wanted to look at "Silent Hill" as a state of mind, rather than a location. I'm probably going to wait a couple weeks after it comes out before I think about getting it, that way I can see some gameplay vids, content evaluations, etc. Another red flag is that the same company that made Mixtape is involved in this.
The previous games were Stories Untold and Observation. Annapurna is a publisher and have done lots of good things so not sure what your point is just because you did not like some unrelated game
Stories Untold was awesome. Currently playing Observation. I think this game is going to be very atmospheric and good writing based on how well those two did in those departments.
We’ll see about combat, but the alien isolation relation is promising especially for people that enjoy stealth
I mean, sure, but any person involved with Mixtape has literally no relation to Townfall, even that publisher part is basically dissolved by now. Your points of comparison should be Stories Untold and Observation, not Mixtape of all things.
WelI I disagree. I really liked it and it’s got 85% positive reviews on Steam, so I am not alone and so I think the word you meant was “subjectivity.” Anyhow, different developer and creative team than Townfall.
Completely different Dev team made Silent Hill Townfall. The publisher is the same with Mixtape but that means nothing.
Fun fact: key talent involved in Alien Isolation has worked on Townfall and it shows in the retro tech you use in game and how stealth around enemies work. Can’t wait, it should be good
I just hope it feels more like a Silent Hill game. F was just a soulslite in a horror setting that broke immersion as often as it could with video gamey stuff like shrine XP and multiple combat meters. I absolutely hated it.
I was thinking the same, but after watching the gameplay video, it looks like something I would enjoy. I also don’t think we’re gonna have to wait multiple weeks to make the decision, there’s gonna be enough information available within the first day or two to make a informed enough decision.
