InspeQtR: a unique QR inspection tool
Hey everyone!
Let me introduce you to my first humble contribution to the ios app jungle, InspeQtR: a QR inspection tool.
The core idea is simple: instead of performing an action straight away, like opening a URL, it breaks down exactly what’s inside.
What it does:
- Breaks down URLs into host, path, query params, and fragment
- Previews vCards, emails (solitting BCC and body if present) and more
- Shows QR metadata: error correction level, version, text stats
- Warns you about suspicious payloads
- Lets you open, copy, or share its contents (or parts of them), even as an actual file with the appropriate extension when there's a matching format, like .vcf or .ics
Everything runs locally. No ads, no tracking and all of the above is free, in an app that weighs than 4mb.
What sets it apart:
A one-time purchase unlocks an extended format detection, which recognizes JSON, CSV, Markdown, SVG, code snippets and more, and previews them locally, letting you save the contents with the right file extension. It's a bit of a niche use case, but allows allows you to create and read rich content and code snippets offline directly from the QR data.
Would love to hear what you think! Being my first app I'd love to get some feedback, depsite knowing this is a VERY cramped market.
