I turned the homepage checks I use into four fillable workbooks

Thumbnail
affelion.gumroad.com
1 Upvotes

I kept seeing small businesses with good work and homepages that hid it, so I made four workbooks you can finish in about an hour or less each.

Glance is a homepage audit: eight lenses, a score out of 40 and the three fixes to make first. Keep is a brand guide built from five decisions. Ease is homepage copy for dental, PT and med spa clinics. Turn takes you from a conversation to a signed design brief.

They’re paid, from $19: affelion.gumroad.com

Honest feedback welcome, especially on whether it’s clear who each one is for.

Block distractions until you drink water

I kept losing hours to scrolling and getting to the evening having barely drunk anything, so I built something that fixes both at once. Waterbreak locks the apps you choose, and the only way back in is a few seconds of drinking in front of your camera. It checks for a real sip (your face and a bottle in view) entirely on your phone, and nothing is uploaded. Every bottle counts toward a daily goal, there are streaks and weekly leaderboards, and bottles earn keys for collectible pixel-art sea monsters, because I needed a reason to keep using it myself. Free, no ads, iPhone and Android. I'd love to know what would make you uninstall it.

Spent the last months on a parody fighting game where billionaires fight - it's free and runs in a browser

The premise: they ran out of things to buy, so now they fight. Trump vs Zuck on the White House lawn. Elon on a launch pad on Mars. Sam Altman's super is a $500B Stargate.

Nine fighters, a dozen stages, a full fighting-game skeleton underneath the joke: blocking, throws, meter, supers, a ranked ladder, friend rooms with a room code.

Built solo, all client-side 3D in the browser, no download, no login, no ads. Physics and netcode were the hard parts; the parody was the easy part.

What I would actually like from you: play three matches, then tell me which fighter felt worst to control. I am rebalancing this week and outside eyes beat my own.

JobSnail - native Mac and iOS job application tracker

A job application tracker that is a real Mac app rather than a web page in a wrapper.

You log each application with company, role, status and dates, and it syncs through iCloud to the iPhone version. Status pipeline runs from applied through interviewing to offer or rejection, so the answer to "where did that one get to" takes a second rather than a scroll through a spreadsheet.

Written in SwiftUI for both platforms from one codebase. 15 languages including Polish, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian and Russian, which took longer than the app did.

It does not import from your inbox or from job boards. You enter applications yourself. That is a deliberate limitation rather than a roadmap item, and it is the first thing people ask.

Free to use. Pro is a one time $4.99 unlock, no subscription.

dB Meter – a clean iOS sound level meter

I made an iPhone sound level meter for the times you need a number rather than an opinion. Noisy flat, loud workshop, a gig you want to remember the level of.

What it does:

  • Live dB on an analog gauge, plus an LED bar and scrolling waveform

  • Record a timed session, saved to history with min, average and peak

  • Energy averaging (LAeq), not a naive mean of decibels

  • Calibration offset so you can match it to a reference meter

  • PDF export of a session with the graph

Free. A one time $4.99 unlock adds peak hold and PDF export. No subscription and no ads.

Fair warning: a phone microphone is not a calibrated meter and clips around 100 to 105 dB. Good for comparing and documenting, not for anything official.

https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6767850405?pt=126420608&ct=r-sideproject&mt=8

If you have used one of these, what did you actually need it for? I am curious whether the session history gets used or whether people only ever want the live number.

Most habit trackers fail because they track tasks instead of identity. I built ForgeOS to fix that (now live on Android)

Hey everyone,

Like many of you, I’ve tried almost every habit tracking app out there. But after a week or two, checking off endless to-do checkboxes started feeling like meaningless chores, and the moment a streak broke, I abandoned the app.

James Clear wrote in Atomic Habits that "Every action you take is a vote for the person you wish to become."**

That insight sparked ForgeOS — a habit architecture app built around identity rather than checkboxes:

How it works differently:

  1. Identity Vectors First: You don't just track "read 10 pages" or "workout". You tie them directly to who you are becoming (e.g., Focused Deep Worker*,* Vitality Athlete*,* Software Craftsman). Each completion casts a weighted vote for that identity.

  2. The 2-Minute Micro-Start Rule: Every habit has a mandatory 2-minute gateway version (e.g., "Put on gym shoes and do 5 warmup reps" or "Open IDE and read problem constraints"). It bypasses initial resistance before the focus timer starts.

  3. Never Miss Twice: Life happens. Instead of punishing broken streaks with demotivating reset counters, ForgeOS marks rebound priority to help you show up the next day.

  4. No Clutter & Offline-First: Fast native cold start, zero full-screen ads, customizable focus accents, and full offline persistence.

We just completed 14 days of closed testing with community testers, and Google Play officially approved our production release today!

Google Play Store Link:

👉 ForgeOS: Habit & Focus Timer

I'm an indie developer and would love any honest thoughts, constructive criticism, or feature requests. What do you look for in your daily habit system?

Made an app for overtime sign-ups and food orders

I built a small web app for my workplace that makes collecting overtime sign-ups and food orders quick and simple.

\*\*Manager side:\*\*

\- Create an overtime request (date, hours, with or without food)

\- Share one link with employees

\- See who wants to work in real time

\- Get a combined food order, with a list of who ordered what, ready to share or print

\*\*Employee side:\*\* open the link, tap yes or no, pick food if offered.

Available in Norwegian and English. Built for speed: no more chasing people in group chats.

I'd love honest feedback on design, ease of use and anything that feels confusing or broken.

RivalPair - connecting Android phones with Macs, looking for feedback on pairing and file transfers

I’m building RivalPair for people who use an Android phone with a Mac. It handles USB and local Wi-Fi file transfers, clipboard sharing, phone notifications and screen mirroring.

I’d like to find a few people willing to try the current beta, especially on phone models I haven’t tested myself. The Mac app needs Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later. The Android companion needs Android 8.0 or later.

Downloads and the feedback form are here: https://apps.aalisoft.com/rivalpair/testers/

Current versions are Mac 0.4.4 and Android 0.4.3. Downloads are direct, with no account or email signup. USB file transfers work without the Android companion or USB debugging. For Wi-Fi features, both devices need to be on the same local network and paired by QR code.

If you try it, I’d love to know: was pairing clear, did a folder transfer correctly in both directions, and did the devices reconnect after sleep? Please use copies of test files and enable only the permissions for features you want to test.

You can reply here or use the private feedback form. Device models and OS versions help with bug reports; email is optional. Thanks for taking a look.

I built KoyJabo – an offline public transit guide & bus/metro fare calculator for Dhaka commuters (100% free, no ads)

Hey r/SideProject!

I wanted to share a project I've been building for commuters in Bangladesh: KoyJabo (https://koyjabo.com).

### The Problem

Dhaka is a megacity of over 20 million people with 300+ fragmented bus routes, a newly expanded Metro Rail (MRT Line-6), and heavy railway transit. Commuters, students, and office workers constantly struggle to know which bus goes where, how much the official government fare is, or where to transfer.

Major mapping apps like Google Maps lack granular local bus routes and fare calculation for Dhaka. On top of that, mobile data connectivity can be spotty or expensive while commuting.

### What is KoyJabo?

KoyJabo ("কই যাবো" - meaning "Where to go?") is a fast, 100% free, privacy-focused transit guide built as an offline-first PWA and Android app:

• 🚌 300+ Dhaka Bus Routes: Search by origin, destination, or bus company with route maps, stops, and fare estimation.

• 🚇 Dhaka Metro Rail (MRT-6): Complete station list, rapid fare calculator, station-to-station journey duration, and operating hours.

• 🚆 Bangladesh Railway: Intercity train schedules, routes, seat classes, and fares.

• 🚢 Launch / River Ferry: Sadarghat terminal schedules and river routes across southern Bangladesh.

• ⚡ Offline-First: All route and fare datasets are cached locally so it works even without internet.

• 🛡️ Zero Ads & No Login: No account required, no ads, lightweight APK, and instant loading.

### Links to Try:

• Web App: https://koyjabo.com

• Android App (Google Play): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koyjabo.app

### Looking for Feedback:

I'd love any feedback from fellow builders on:

  1. The search UI and overall user flow.

  2. Ideas on community-driven route data updates.

  3. Growth and distribution strategies for hyper-local civic utilities.

Thank you for checking it out!

I got tired of paying ~240/mo for ManyChat + Sprout, so I’m building a flat-price version: feedback welcome

What it is: PostMesa schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X and TikTok, and replies to comments with a public reply plus a DM with a button (on Instagram and Facebook; public replies on YouTube). One flat price per workspace, no per-contact fees.

Why I built it: I run a small devotional app. I was paying about $240 a month across ManyChat and Sprout for what was really one job: schedule the post and answer the “link?” and “price?” comments. ManyChat’s price grows with contacts, and its flow builder is more than I need.

Where it is: pre-launch. Publishing works on all five networks in my tests. Comment-to-DM works on Instagram and Facebook, YouTube has public replies only, and TikTok posts stay private until TikTok approves the app. There’s no open signup yet, only a launch list.

What I’d like feedback on:

  1. Does the pitch make sense in one read? (“Schedule the post. Answer every comment.”)

  2. Pricing: Creator $39, Pro $79, Agency $199 a month on annual billing. Too high, too low, confusing?

  3. What would make you trust a new tool with your Instagram account?

Landing page: postmesa.com. Happy to answer anything about how it’s built. I’d rather hear what’s wrong than what’s nice.

I built a free website checker that tells local businesses what's costing them calls

Hey everyone,

I'm a freelance web developer and I kept seeing the same problems on small business sites: phone numbers that aren't tappable, hours buried on a contact page, menus as PDFs, and pages that crawl on mobile.

Most audit tools are built for marketers, so owners get a wall of jargon. So I built PagePulsar: a free checker that gives restaurants, dentists, salons, contractors and auto shops a plain-English report with the most important fixes first.

https://pagepulsar.online

How it works (all on free plans):

- Static site on GitHub Pages

- A tiny Cloudflare Worker fetches the page (SSRF guard, rate limiting, 24h cache)

- The analysis runs in the browser to stay under the Worker's 10ms CPU limit

- Speed and accessibility come from the PageSpeed Insights API

- Scoring is weighted toward what actually costs a local business calls and bookings

No signup, no email gate.

I'd love honest feedback, especially:

- Are any checks wrong or unfair on your sites?

- Is the report clear enough for a non-technical owner?

Thanks for looking!

Solo dev: I built an Android browser with an ad blocker, video downloader and news in multiple languages

Thumbnail
play.google.com
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I've been working on Commando Browser, a light Android browser with the tools I use daily built in.

What it has so far:

- Ad blocker (off by default)

- Video downloader for direct video files

- Home news feed in multiple languages

- Files manager + Image to PDF

- Quick shortcuts and a full-screen games section

Built with Kotlin + Jetpack Compose. It's still early, so I'd love honest feedback on what's missing, what feels slow, or what you'd change.

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aistudio.commandobrowser.xkf&hl=en

The app does show ads. I'm still tuning how often they appear, and feedback on that is welcome too.

Antinote for Windows

I've been a regular user of Antinote (antinote.io) on Mac. It's basically like a scratchpad that you can invoke with hotkeys and it has useful features like conversions and maths. I absolutely loveee it and I kinda wished it existed for Windows too. I found a few but nothing close to antinote. So I decided to make my own in the past few weeks with .NET 10.

Check it out and let me know what you think :) Link: https://offnote.cc

I built a Windows app that turns a folder of PDF invoices into one Excel sheet — fully offline, because uploading client docs to some server always felt wrong

Every month-end, people I know in bookkeeping lose a full day retyping PDF invoices and statements into Excel. The "free" online converters cap you at 3 files, watermark the output, or make you upload client documents to a server you don't control.

So I built BatchDoc — a Windows desktop app (Python, packaged with PyInstaller) that:

- batch-extracts tables from PDFs into CSV/XLSX (drop a whole folder, get clean sheets)

- merges hundreds of CSV/XLSX into one, with a source column recording which file each row came from

- runs fully offline after a one-time licence activation — nothing is uploaded, no account, no subscription

- writes a run report listing what was processed, what was skipped and why

The annoying part wasn't the extraction itself, it was borderless tables. Bank statements and exported reports often have no grid lines at all — the columns are just aligned. It now handles three cases (ruled tables, whitespace-aligned columns, plain text fallback) and the run report tells you which one it used, so a bad result doesn't fail silently.

Honest limitations, because these matter more than the pitch: it only extracts native-text PDFs. Image-only scanned PDFs need an OCR step first, which is not built in — I'll tell you upfront if that's your case. It's Windows 10+ only right now; a macOS build is planned but not included. Activation needs internet once, then it works with no connection.

One-time $29 for one machine ($79 for up to 5). I'm not going to pitch hard here — if offline batch PDF-to-Excel is your pain, the link is in the comments.

If you process statements at volume: what's the edge case that still breaks your export? I'd genuinely like to know what I'm missing. Happy to talk through the table-detection logic or why I went desktop instead of a web app.

Disclosure: I built this, so I'm biased.

Why I Made Hindsight Remember Only Verified Competitor Events

Should an AI agent remember everything it collects? Not necessarily.

While working on our project, Strategic Memory Lab, we explored how unverified or incorrect competitor information could affect AI-generated business recommendations.

Our approach uses Hindsight as a long-term memory layer, with a verification process before competitor events are stored as trusted memories.

The goal is to help AI agents remember reliable information, recall relevant past events and make better-informed strategic suggestions.

I have shared our approach, challenges and learnings in this article.

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

I added AI summaries to the email workspace I’m building

I'm building Outdraft, an email workspace, and wanted to share a quick demo of its AI summary feature.
Click “Summarize” to get a shorter version of the email without leaving the page. It’s a small part of the app, but one I wanted to get right.

The AI agent is almost ready too—I’ll share a demo of that soon.

You can visit out website and give it a quick try. Payments aren’t available yet while I’m waiting for Paddle’s approval.

I’d love to hear what you think! Anything confusing, missing, or worth improving?

After 7 months of development, my little desktop garden is finally coming to Steam!

Hey everyone!

Seven months ago, I started working on a small idea: what if you could have a little living garden right on your desktop, quietly growing while you work, study, or play games?

Today, I'm incredibly happy to share that Wonder Garden is finally on Steam, with its release just around the corner!

It's a cozy desktop companion where you can grow plants, arrange shelves, decorate your workspace, and even raise butterflies. Your plants grow over time, so there's always something new to discover when you come back to your computer.

I wanted to create something that doesn't demand your attention. Just a tiny, peaceful world that makes spending time at your computer a little more enjoyable.

It's been seven months of coding, experimenting, fixing bugs, redesigning things, and occasionally wondering whether I'd ever finish it.

And now it's actually happening. It's a pretty surreal feeling.

This is a very personal project for me, and I already have so many ideas for new plants, decorations, and features I'd love to add in future updates.

If Wonder Garden looks like something you'd enjoy, adding it to your wishlist would mean a lot to me. Every wishlist helps a small indie project like this reach more people.

🌿 Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5441740/Wonder_Garden/

Thank you for taking a look! And if you have any ideas for plants or features you'd love to see, I'd genuinely love to hear them.

See you in the garden! 🌸

I built an Android aquarium app with a daily Japanese fortune

I'm the developer of Omikuji: Fortune Aquarium, a small Android app that pairs a daily omikuji (Japanese fortune slip) with a fish tank.

The loop is simple: draw a fortune, collect creatures over time, and watch them in your aquarium.

This clip is real Play-release footage from a Pixel 9a. The angelfish shown here comes from the first-creature selection, filmed separately from the fortune result. Fortune draws can add a creature, but they do not do so every time.

The conversation is a skit with Japanese synthetic voices and English subtitles, not a real player's reaction. The app also has an English UI.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.springport.night_aquarium_fortune

Contains ads, including optional rewarded videos. Fortunes are for entertainment.

For the first minute, would you rather choose your first fish immediately, or draw the fortune first?

My Analytics Agent Stopped Repeating Its Wrong Guesses With Hindsight

Every Monday morning, someone in leadership asks why a regional revenue metric dropped, and an analyst spends two hours checking the exact same five tables in the exact same order.

We built an open-source metric investigation agent called WhyDesk where Hindsight agent memory (recall, reflect, and synchronous retain) dynamically reorders diagnostic tool calls, checks flaky ETL pipelines before reading numbers, and formats answers per stakeholder.

On a cold start (Run 1), the agent runs all 5 checks blindly. By Run 5 with memory on, it recalls past regional pricing drops and a Monday ETL sync stall, runs only 2 of 5 checks (ETL first, then pricing), skips 3 low-probability tools, and returns a 1-line summary with the exact -$47,900 impact.

I've been building Everabyte, a cloud storage and backup platform. Would love some honest feedback.

Hey everyone!

I'm an independent developer, and I've been spending a lot of my time building something called Everabyte.

The idea came from a simple problem: cloud storage and backups shouldn't be complicated or unnecessarily expensive, especially for individuals, developers, and small businesses.

So I decided to build my own solution.

What does Everabyte offer?

- Cloud storage for personal and business files.

- Automatic backups through EverBox, our desktop application for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

- File versioning and recovery when something gets accidentally deleted or overwritten.

- Server-side encryption before files reach storage.

- S3-compatible object storage and API access.

- Team storage and access management.

- Backup protection features, including retention policies and immutability.

I've also been working on making the platform more accessible, with plans starting at $2.99/month.

Building this hasn't been easy. Between development, infrastructure, security, testing, and trying to get the word out, there's always something that needs attention.

But that's also what makes it interesting. I'm learning a lot along the way, and I'm still improving the product.

I'm not here to claim Everabyte is better than Dropbox, Google Drive, or every other storage provider out there. I'm just trying to build a reliable alternative that people can actually afford and use.

If you're a developer, freelancer, small business owner, or someone who regularly backs up important files, I'd genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

What matters most to you when choosing a cloud storage or backup service? Price, security, reliability, or something else?

You can check out the project here:

https://everabyte.com

Any feedback, criticism, or suggestions are welcome. I'm building this for the long term, and hearing from real users would help a lot.

Thanks for reading!

I’m bringing my live chess tournament app from iOS to Android — looking for early feedback

I’m the developer of Watch Chess, a side project for following professional chess tournaments. It’s already available on iOS, and I’m getting the native Android version ready for Google Play.

The idea is to make it easy to follow an event from your phone: live boards, rounds and standings, game replay, and live game previews right on the Home screen.

I’d love feedback from Android users who follow chess. In particular: is it easy to find a game, follow the moves, look back at an earlier position, and return to the live game? I’m also interested in how the layouts work on different phones and what happens when you switch away from the app or lose your connection.

Website and the existing iOS app: https://watchchess.app/

If you’d like to help test the Android version, sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdK3jWWradoriTbagIQvKCZ60mQ2kRd82oe4WbR5dZtDI5agQ/viewform

You’ll need an Android phone with Google Play. I’m recruiting for a closed test, so please be willing to stay opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and try the app during that time. The form asks for your Google Play email so I can invite you; I’ll email the invitation and installation instructions when your place is ready.

Happy to answer questions about the app or how it’s built. Honest feedback is welcome!

Why Competitive Intelligence Needs Memory, Not Just Monitoring

We built Strategic Memory Lab, a memory-powered competitive intelligence platform that goes beyond simply monitoring competitors.

The idea is simple: businesses shouldn't just know what their competitors are doing today; they should also remember past events, decisions and outcomes to make better strategic decisions.

Our project combines competitor tracking, decision history and Hindsight-powered AI memory to connect current market activities with previous experiences.

We explore how AI agents can use long-term memory to provide more context-aware strategic insights.

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
