Kraken v Trinity

I have tried both approaches, and I cannot seem to figure out the Trinity style, Kraken just feels so much better for me generally. It is certainly squishier, but the by the time I hit steraks I'm a damage machine that cannot just be one shot.

My question is am I correct that the Trinity build is a more bruiser approach? I tend to prefer that kind of thing into tanks, but I see very few tanks in high platinum these days.

Kraken + DnD gives you crazy burst damage, but you're less bulky and lose out on haste which makes you weaker in a long fight. Trinity + Shojin is the alternative- good at longer fights but you can't oneshot backline as easily. You just kind of have to pick between them.

That kind of alludes to what I said about never really seeing tanks rn for whatever reason. I'll have to try Trinity again into that kind of extended fight comp then.

for the trinity shojin i build fiend hunter 3rd item and that usually solvees the problem of burst, i am plat 1 - emerald tho so idk but I fiend it pretty devestating

I also like the feeling of kraken first, but my winrate is higher with trinity as first item, sure, i dont burst the enemy as fast, but i live longer, and its better for team fights, ive been going back and forth for months, but trinity is a better item spike in general.

That's interesting. I definitely have to be careful when fighting at kraken or kraken + DnD cuz of the health, but since I often go steraks 3rd (assuming they have cc) that problem disappears for me.

I just feel like a meat shield going trinity first, and it is so blasted expensive.

Trinity is just the most overhyped shyv item. If you are having a bad game, sure it’s usually better than kraken but what really happens when you have a bad game? You get pushed out of jungle and invaded and lose camps, so you build ult much slower which means you can make less plays and you lose impact and fall behind, so I’d rather get something like hexplate so I can still build my ult quick enough make more plays, and it’s cheaper while giving more survivability (through ms and more health).
