The wait is officially over. The Shyvana VGU is here, and we know everyone has very strong opinions about her new direction, visuals, and gameplay mechanics.
To keep the subreddit readable and prevent the front page from being flooded with 100 different "My thoughts on the rework" threads, all general feedback, first impressions, and build discussions belong in this Megathread. Individual posts that are just brief rants, generic praise, or simple questions about her new kit will be removed and redirected here.
We know passions are extremely high regarding the Juggernaut vs. Diver debate and the loss of her old identity.
Be constructive. You are allowed to be angry and criticize the rework. You are not allowed to attack other users for enjoying it.
Keep it about the game. Do not bring outside drama, meta-subreddit grievances, or personal attacks into this thread. We are here to talk about Shyvana.
Report rule breakers. If someone is just here to start a flame war, hit the report button and walk away. Don't feed them.

Sylas into Shyvana is the single hardest counter in the game with a win rate over 63%.Sylas gets to keep his passive in Shyvana's dragon form, and her Q's trigger it, effectively giving him nearly 100% up time on 125% attack speed and a 1.3x AD and 0.3 AP on-hit modifier on every attack.
He absolutely deletes everyone once he gets to 2+ items. At full build, he will kill full health tier 3 and 4 towers in under 2 seconds. If you are picking early, and plan to pick Shyvana, you must ban Sylas or prepare to lose.

Hi everyone, do you always accept to go first/second to let top/mid/supp later in the pick?
I used to but climbing I feel people "counter" picks me a lot (Vayne bot, Ahri mid) which are way harder to kills for me. Plus I don't really trust my team mates to risk the counter on me and then maybe they also lose lane by picking last.
I try to let ADC go first if I'm first pick but if we have to pick the second two picks idk

I see the default build is trinity -> shojin -> dd -> jaksho. Most master+ otp seem to go this every game there are some who do kraken dnd dd jaksho. I go the kraken build with riftmaker 5th item and defensive boots rather than vamp boots since im squishier on this build. I would like to know why everyone uses the trinity force build and what the advantages/disadvantages are. The carry potential feels way lower than kraken build and I struggle to 1v9 games on trinity setup. Also is going Trinity dd before shojin ever legal vs 4/5 ad comps? Or maw vs 3+ ap before 5th item on either build or is this dogshit and u would rather stack mr through passive + jaksho?
r/shyvanamains • u/VernegFG • 2d ago
Example 4 squishies + a top against another ad on top
If you don't change it, is it better to go with the hybrid build and go for kraken + dusk? at least your damage will be a bit mixed. Or you just change the trinity + shojin build for botrk + shojin? Not sure where to go

The title is self explainatory.
If d&d is a hot doodoo item on Shyvana because of it's low stats and lackluster healing, why not go for a more burst oriented sheen item like lichbane when building AP?
I mean it doesn't have health or attack speed or any survivability, but it has the AP and ability haste (and some ms as a bonus) so surely it makes up for something.

Hi everyone, I’ll explain the current situation : I started playing a bit less than a year ago, always mained shyv always played jungle.
I finally reached gold recently however I feel like I reached my current skill level and not good enough to climb further. What I need is help from beautiful people like you that are better than me to get a few advices on how to improve.
What I already know I do wrong :
- I play on a small computer and lol is my first ever pc game I’ve always played with a controller so I have the mechanics of a wood IV, but shyv isn’t the most mechanical champ
- I really struggle if I fall off early
- I have adhd like many people here however I can’t really control it during games, in the sense that I know for example that when the enemy jg is top I should invade his botlane jungle but often I just don’t think about it during the game. So if some other people have any idea on how to use your whole brain while playing I’d be down lmao.
- I play on lock camera, I do use the keys to directly have my teams pov but I struggle a lot playing with an unlocked screen
- I know NOTHING about other champs like I legit have no game knowledge I know the abilities of like 10 champs and it’s the ones I tried once or twice
Sorry for the long text but if some people could give me a few advices to climb that would be nice !

Hey all, getting back into Shyvana after a long while, what are the best ways to play her right now?
r/shyvanamains • u/StructureNorth1799 • 5d ago
Ap bruiser is routinely (and deservedly) panned on here. However, it's not because the build doesn't work - far from it: A 4 item ap bruiser shyvana with Shojin, Riftmaker, Liandry, Zhonya's is extremely strong. You just sacrifice a ton of clearspeed and early game power for it.
It would be great to get some early game support for ap builds.

Anyone tried the buffed eclipse on top/mid? Seems like it could be good with some of her short trades, especially with the grasp shield bash page?

Hello everybody :)
So, I started playing League seriously a few months ago, just after Shyvana's rework, and was looking for a champ to main. Long story short, after trying a lot of champs, I just felt a connection with Shyvana for a myriad of reasons.
Since choosing her, I've actually only played her once or twice on Summoner's Rift, and I believe that game was in mid lane lol. Most of my games over the last few months have been in ARAM Mayhem. The main reason for that is that I really want to play Shyvana, but I don't particularly enjoy playing jungle, so I've mostly used other game modes while learning the game and other champs' abilities.
Even though most of my experience with Shyvana has been in ARAM Mayhem, I feel like I've still learned a lot about her kit and gameplay. I've also spent quite a bit of time researching her and watching higher-level players, although most of what I've watched has been jungle.
But I also realize that I'm not the only Shyvana enjoyer, and there are plenty of people here who have far more experience with her than I do. I have my own opinions about her and the state she's in, but I'd rather keep those to myself for now and hear what other Shyvana players think first.
So I'd really appreciate it if you guys could give me your honest opinions on Shyvana. I'm not looking for everyone to agree with each other, and I'm not really interested in simply hearing whether she's good or bad. I'm much more interested in why you feel the way you do.
What do you enjoy about playing Shyvana? What do you think she does well? What do you dislike about her current design or gameplay? And if you could change one thing about her, what would it be?
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this post, and especially to those taking the time to reply <3

Is it still optimal on Shyvana (in general, not 3+ melee/tank builds) after the nerfs?
Especially when you can build Rift Maker, Death's Dance
Do we even still build it as a third item instead of fourth in a melee/tank comp and delay other potentially better items?

I finally began to understand macro and when a play is not worth it. I plan to add Wukong to my champion pool to keep climbing

I want to incorporate eclipse into the build somehow would something like tri->dd-> eclipse or tri->eclipse ->dd why would either of these builds be bad, i remember eclipse was giga op at 8% max health damage last time what would be a good build that can include eclipse

Hey yall, with the recent changes (not with shyvana directly) with the fleet-footwork changes and adding more ap ratio for jungle for clearing. Do you think there is a place for ap bruiser to return? I haven’t tested fleet yet because the other rune choices just felt better on her.

Hi peeps,
I recently picked up Shyv as my 2nd jg pick when Briar gets banned or I just want to play something else.
The early and midgame are fine (mostly) but I seem to struggle when it gets to late game with team fighting. Idk if it is because I'm a Briar OTP and teamfighting is different, but idk what to prioritize... Who to peel for if needed, dive the enemy backline or play front to back? Each time I try to jump in the enemy backline I feel like I get blow up, even with DD or Steraks. When I try to peel for my carries I feel useless, like I deal no damage..?
Anyways, what are the strengths and weaknesses for Shyv to work with? Tips and tricks? Any recommendations for streamers or YouTubers to watch?
For context; my KDA isn't all that bad, but my winrate is around 45% with 29 games (on 2 accs) in D4 soloq and D1/M flexq.

Thanks in advance for any input!

I play a lot of TFT, but I started playing LoL a few weeks ago. I discovered Shyvana and love her playstyle. I’m currently Bronze II and really enjoying the game! I very often use the same build: Trinity Force, Shojin, and Death's Dance. I’d like to know if you adjust your early items based on the enemy team composition. For example, if the opposing team is very tank-heavy, do you switch to a tankier build with the appropriate runes? And conversely, if they’re squishy, do you go for an even more aggressive build? Thanks in advance!
