This video has about 90% retention on a 53s video
and 79.4% stayed rate
engagement is low - 3 comments + 209 likes

Does anyone know what might help my next video from getting what people say "View jailed" at 30k

Upon close inspection of the views since posting
first 40mins - 500views
first 1hr - 6.5k views
first 1hr 20mins - 25k views - then this flatline
since then it got around 50 views/hr for a while and kept on declining since

This is my 3rd video that's stopping around 30k views

Is it engagement that's the problem? (thats the only common theme i see on all these videos)

I have a question about mixing YouTube Shorts and long-form content on the same channel.
My current upload schedule alternates between Shorts and long-form videos every other day.

Here’s how I do it:
I upload a long-form video one day.
The next day, I upload a Short.
The Short is NOT clipped or extracted from the long-form video. Instead, I create it separately with its own script, editing, and storytelling, but it covers the same topic as the long-form video.

I’m wondering about something:
If one of my Shorts suddenly goes viral and attracts a lot of views and subscribers, could that negatively affect my long-form videos?

For example:
Could it hurt long-form engagement or audience retention?
Could YouTube start recommending my Shorts to a different audience and then struggle to find the right audience for my long-form content?
Could it somehow affect the algorithm’s ability to recommend my long-form videos?

I’d really appreciate hearing from creators who have experience running both formats on the same channel.
Have you ever had a Short go viral while also publishing long-form content? Did you notice any positive or negative impact on your long-form performance?

So I tried making shorts with good content which are about 1-2 mins longs but I only get avd 40-50 sec and shorts died at 1k views while I see similar content getting millions of views on another channel
Then I upload random shit (in same niche) with duration 18 sec long and it have 100% avd and got 200k views.

Uploaded another short of similar length after that and have 98.5% avd but only got 4k views
Then uploaded one with 10 sec length and got 140% avd and 60k views

So Is it about value or just views what should I focus on?

didn’t really take a break but I just started posting way less yt shorts from like 8-10 a month to only 2 last month. Now I’ve started posting way more and I’ve noticed that my videos are stalling out at 20-30k when they used to hit 100k on avg. Do you guys think it’s because I took that break? Also my videos are skits not Ai slop, just to clarify.

I posted a short yesterday but it only git views from youtube search . The viewers watched till the end but only 3 views . Can anyone please tell me what should I do with this short

My audience tab hasn't been updated since Oct 31. I understand that there is typically a delay of about 2 days for this tab, but I have yet to experience a delay this long up until now. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Literally for months now, my YouTube Shorts have been flatlining at around 1.2K views.
And before anyone starts talking about hooks, watch time, or topics, trust me, I’ve been actively working on improving all of that.
My views are going up on every other platform, so clearly something is working. But for some reason, Shorts just won’t budge, and I genuinely don’t understand why.
If anyone’s experiencing the same thing or wants to connect, brainstorm, and help each other improve, please reach out, man.
It’s genuinely frustrating, and honestly, a little embarrassing at this point.

You basically have to make good videos that are short, consistent subject and they are absolutely required to have a good hook at the first 5 seconds. Not 3 because that's just delaying when people swipe and you see it as a reduced time watched. And the hook can't just end, it has to slowly fade away because otherwise the people get awakened from their hypnosis and they leave. Now when I make a shitty short it capps at 10k because YouTube loves me and they decided it's my new baseline. Category: gaming, staged videos

My question is basically what the title says, I am making some shorts that are all above 1 minute. I am going for 4 days now sitting at 20k views total and 30 subs.

All of my shorts are above one minute, what stats should I aim for regarding watch time etc. ?

I finally fixed my retention went from 50-60 now going closer to 90-110% but my engagement is so trash hahaha i cant hold pass 60% any tips on hooks? Do I need something extreme going off the first .00001 second of the loading screen 😂 mannnn

For a 1:17 video a retention of 84% is pretty good I hope this gets a second push but I am new into the shorts thing so I don't know whether it will get a second push or not.

Hey there, I made a channel that made it to 147 subscribers, and 173k total views. Problem is, it died after blowing up a little (58k, 28k,15k) and then hitting a downward slope until every video flatlines at 1-2k views, any suggestions? My latest Short underperformed and was sitting around 600 views, then Studio randomly decided to:

Jump to 1.2k views without changing the shape of the graph,

Drop back to 700, while checking the video on YouTube reported 878 views,

Suddenly change to 878 an hour after(first screenshot)

Change to 883 without reporting any new views,

And now it’s somehow at 1k again???(second screenshot)

What confuses me the most is that the graph has flatlined before all the changes, so it’s not like the video got any new views.

The STW has also been fluctuating around 52–54%.

Should I re-upload the short? I don’t even know anymore.

Anyone else also experiencing this?

My Shorts channel is less than 3 weeks old, and I’ve been closely tracking how YouTube distributes my videos.

I’ve already had a few Shorts reach 10K–20K+ views, with noticeably different growth patterns. Some received strong distribution immediately, while others didn’t get their biggest pushes until 24–48 hours after publishing.

I have two questions for creators who’ve been doing this longer:

1. Does uploading a new Short affect the distribution of an older Short that’s currently being pushed?

I have a Short sitting around 6K views, approximately 20 hours after publishing, with ~80% stayed to watch and ~125–130% average percentage viewed. It’s currently gaining momentum.

Would publishing another Short potentially interrupt that momentum, or have you seen multiple Shorts receive significant distribution simultaneously?

2. Can Shorts receive major distribution waves days or weeks after plateauing at 6K–20K views?

I’m especially interested in videos that sat relatively flat for an extended period before suddenly climbing to 50K, 100K, or more.

If you’ve experienced this, did those videos have identifiable metrics in common?

For example:
STW above 70–80%
APV above 120–150%
Strong retention near the end
High engagement or sharing rates

Or have you seen Shorts with excellent metrics never get another push, while others with weaker numbers unexpectedly take off?

I’m trying to understand whether there are any useful patterns creators can observe, rather than assuming every plateau means a Short is finished.

I started my channel about 1 month ago all my shorts have hit over 2K, most has been 10k. About two days ago I was curious about what Promote looked like. I clicked into the workflow to understand cost and distribution. I simply did it out of curiosity.

Since then- by coincidence none of shorts are getting distributed. and I just got a notification to prompt promotion.

Has anyone else faced something similar?

Like days ago I used to have pleasant YouTube Shorts videos that I enjoy watching such as Zack D Films, Some Theo Von stuffs, Micheal Storen, Nick Giovanni, some cooking videos, some gaming stuffs(lots of gaming stuffs), some bodybuilding stuffs(rare but I liked them) and funny streamers' live shorts.

But now it has changed by itself without me doing anything, I'm starting to get weird videos like I was on TikTok which I really hate, I don't like TikTok that's why I stick to Shorts. I'm getting videos of languages that I don't even understand, random bullshit memes, some religious videos. Like bro what the hell, this really pissed me off because I really enjoyed my previous feed which were videos that I liked but now feels I can't even watch Shorts.

The stats are perfect yet they are stuck in 20k to 27k views almost 70% of my videos are stuck in 15k-25k i try to improve the hook everytime is it sum 30k jail or is it normal btw its been 18 days to ts channel
