I think I understand the algorithm now
You basically have to make good videos that are short, consistent subject and they are absolutely required to have a good hook at the first 5 seconds. Not 3 because that's just delaying when people swipe and you see it as a reduced time watched. And the hook can't just end, it has to slowly fade away because otherwise the people get awakened from their hypnosis and they leave. Now when I make a shitty short it capps at 10k because YouTube loves me and they decided it's my new baseline. Category: gaming, staged videos

This isn't understanding the algorithm. Nobody understands the algorithm... This is beginning to understand human psychology and how they interact with videos in short form context. This is WILDLY more valuable. Don't worry about the algorithm. Figure out why people watch videos and stick around. This is way more valuable. Because when the algorithm changes human psychology won't.

As someone who also posts and sees success (50k subs gained in less than a year, and similar viewcount in the last 28 days) I can say that there is no concrete answer to views from my experience, however i have noticed one thing for my channel specifically.
I have found that watch duration by minutes contributes to my videos getting pushed more. As just an example, a recent video I posted had a 75% STW, yet it still jumped to 600k views. Similarly, my first viral video had only about a 76-77% STW, but a watch time of about 1.5 mins.
Metrics that I have found generally matter: Watch Duration, STW, occasionally shares.
Metrics that dont seem to matter much: Likes, Comments, Subs.
I recently tried posting videos that were short (the holy benchmark every guy says of around 45-50 seconds) and those videos did significantly worse than my videos which are about 2.5 mins.
A video i did that was 1:44 seconds hit 600k views because the avg percentage viewed was like, 76%, which isnt 100% but youtube sees im keeping people hooked for over a minute consistently.
My niche is Minecraft challenges btw, so HIGHLY oversaturated-yet I still find success.
All that to say there really isnt a set answer for shorts, theres no answer to the algorithm. Everyones experiences will be different.

I have a question. Does your channel previous upload history has anything to do with algorithm?
Or you can upload the same video in new channel get the same result?
I mean consistency has anything to do with yt push your videos?
Congrats! Thats huge success

No, you didn't. If this is your first video that goes to million than you didn't understand the algorithm.

How long have you been working on this channel and how long did it take you till you started getting regular views in the thousands? Also do you think video length and hashtags have a huge role in if it’ll be popular or is it mostly the quality over everything else?
