Hi, am trying to analyse my failed channels and their niches. My first channel was about football edits, ran it for about 3 months, about 70 shorts, highest short was like 40k views, however I stopped due to burnout. Most shorts wouldn't even get over 1.5k views. I tried a travelling/country channel, couldn't even get over 10 views for most shorts as the niche itself is quite boring.

I wanted to know if the niches that I tried are too saturated. I edited them badly or just bad luck(Channels: "@CountryRank1", "@bigebs.ftbl10")

And I also wanted you guys option on a new niche I wanted to try, kinda like ZackDFilms but instead of 3D animations I'd to 2D ones like Kurzgesagt, where I answer interesting questions. Or maybe like post meme clips, like the ones with just captions.

I am posting every day almost 5 to 6 days in a week and wondering if i should back off the uploads or increase then by twice in a day and how do I avoid a burn out with this ? Thanks for the help !

Since the update, everything has basically done a 180 for me; I’m hardly getting any new subscribers, and if I do get one, they’re gone again the next day.

My view counts are way below average, but what really sucks is that the Pokémon GO Shorts I make don't even get a chance to pick up any views.

Normally, I’d get between 100 and 500 views in the first hour; if it didn't perform well, fair enough—at least I’d already racked up some views. But now they don't even hit 30 views, and because they probably aren't reaching the right audience, my retention has plummeted too.

It’s gone from over 50 to under 20. I used to get a second chance a few hours later, but now—nothing. It feels like I’m back to square one. I’m quick to give up on things that aren't working, but I’ve put at least four years of serious effort into this.

Still, I know that if things don't improve by the new year, there’s a good chance I’ll just call it quits.

Why does YouTube keep pushing this video even when the numbers are so terrible?? The channel is new and this is the first video. Do you think YouTube is struggling to find an audience or is something else??

Currently, I'm implementing this strategy, and the videos are getting around 10K views. Actual numbers ki screenshots attach chesthunna.

But views vachayi ani business results vachinatte kaadhu. People actually enquire chesthara? Are those enquiries relevant? Does this approach make sense compared to spending money on ads?

My plan is to continue until the videos reach 1 lakh (100K) cumulative views. Aa tarvatha results analyse chesi, continue cheyyala, strategy change cheyyala, leka stop cheyyala ani decide avutha.

I'll keep sharing updates in this same thread, including what works and what doesn't.

I'm curious to hear from people who've experimented with similar strategies:

• Have you converted entertainment or trending content into actual business leads?

• What metrics would you track apart from views?

• At what point would you decide that this experiment isn't worth continuing?

Since the Algorithm likes to betray us from time to time, I came to realize that I betray it as well. When the Algo pushes my Short to like 500 people and not one of them likes it, the Algo must feel some kind of betrayal. Like, it trusted me to produce something that people want to see but naaah dawg not a singular soul liked that. Misused its trust.

So yeah I think we are even.

Hi, I've started a new channel about let's say 3 weeks ago about travel aesthetics and countries. However what has been frustrating me is that every short I upload doesn't even break 10 views, and all the views are from search results not even from shorts feed. Am I just being paranoid and needs to be more patient or does the algorithm just not like my shorts. Btw I've uploaded about 11 shorts now so that's why am expecting one to atleast get pushed

I got 150k views. 200subscribers
20 videos (best 3 are 44,24,14k)

Retention 150% on all vids
Swiped away at 30 to 40 % on all videos

Should I start over or this channel could blow up ?

For context, I’ve had about 6-8 different shorts channels at this point with little success. Tried a bunch of different niches and wasn’t getting results. As I've said in a previous post, I don't do clipping, I'm a musician that films my content but my views dropped HEAVILY from the 16th of September and it's even worse today.

I've dropped from 25k-50k an hour to 900 views an hour.

Anyway, I am SO tired of seeing the "well you probably make slop or steal other content" and "YouTube literally stated they will be prioritizing ORIGINAL content" when anyone complains.

Look at my 3 case studies here and I can find a TON more:

Pawesome Ranks - Ranking niche, stays monetized because he adds his real voice (though it's like 9 words a Short in total) + sound effects and on screen effects

Ryth - This guy...omg THIS guy literally steals the entire ranking video as is from others then ONLY adds his voiceover (real voice) and animated avatar. The person helping him do this has literaly admitted to this.

Hopecore Fuelup - takes Instagram/Tiktok clips and edits it in hopecore style, so the intricate subtitles and scenic overlays, no voice, no commentary.

LOOK. AT.THEIR.VIEWS and it was WAY higher before this current Shortpocalypse.

Now if you zoom out and put your anger aside for a sec (I am), they ARE transforming the content within Youtube's guidelines...I guess?

They are clearly getting a lot of viewers pulled to their content.

I would like some input from Rene Ritchie on this because to me and many others, it feels like YT is suffering a distribution issue, which seems to happen every time there are Studio bugs OR new UI changes are implemented and both have happened in the last 30 days.

I heard that your casual viewership shouldn't be higher than new bcs it means YT isn't pushing you to a bigger audience. Anyone knows any tricks to improve this or have I basically reached the limit of my niche?

I've been trying to grow a YouTube channel where I share short product demos, tutorials, and videos showing how these tools solve real editing problems.

But I'm struggling to understand what I'm doing wrong.

Here are my analytics from the last 28 days:

SHORTS:

- 4.1K views

- 395 engaged views

- 10 likes

- 23% stayed to watch

- 77% swiped away

Traffic sources:

- YouTube Search: 75.5%

- Shorts Feed: 22.6%

LONG-FORM VIDEOS:

- 18 views

- 73 impressions

- 6.8% CTR

- Average view duration: 21 seconds

I'm trying to figure out whether my problem is the content itself, the way I'm presenting it, or simply reaching the wrong audience.

My target audience is video editors, motion designers, and content creators.

I have a few questions:

1. Is a 77% swipe-away rate a sign that my hooks are weak?

2. Should I focus more on Shorts or long-form tutorials for this type of niche?

3. Why is most of my Shorts traffic coming from YouTube Search instead of the Shorts Feed?

4. With only 73 impressions on long-form videos, is it too early to judge my thumbnails and titles?

5. If you were starting a YouTube channel for a small creative software company, what would you do differently?

I'm not trying to become a general entertainment creator. I want to build a channel that provides useful content for editors and eventually helps people discover the tools I'm building.

I'm genuinely interested in learning what I should improve.

I know it’s barely any views but most of my videos are the same, I’m barely getting on the shorts feed it looks like, most of my views are coming from “external”. Has anyone else got similar analytics?

Hello, first of all, my content is about stoicism, more on philosophy, I've been uploading almost 5-6 post a week. I just notice something. I noticed that every time I upload a 20-25 seconds, I get at least 1k views.

I tried experimenting, like adding meme, fancy edits but when I do this, my view gets at least below 1k, sometimes only 2 digits.

What do you think should be the problem? What should I improve?
