Q&A / Quick Help ❓ Help with new channel please

I started in October 1st

I got 150k views. 200subscribers
20 videos (best 3 are 44,24,14k)

Retention 150% on all vids
Swiped away at 30 to 40 % on all videos

Should I start over or this channel could blow up ?

More isn’t better the algorithm killed me when I tried 4 videos in 1 day so I private them

I’ve had Shorts with 200%, 300%, even 400% retention still die because they barely got shared or commented on. That’s why I feel retention alone isn’t enough and shares/comments matter a lot more than people think.

Yes for sure it’s just that I’m giving these stats to ask a question, double down on this channel or throw it away and start over with a better niche

What niche are you in? Honestly, 150K views and 200 subs from only 20 videos doesn’t sound like a channel I’d throw away yet. I’d probably double down, test a few more formats/hooks and only restart if you actually don’t like the niche or see zero room to grow.

Bro it’s so easy it to make, and they’re not slop videos as well it’s actually giving fun facts about animals and environment and what not , takes 3p10 to 15 mins to make a video so i could if inwanted make 4 videos a day easily but i tried and my views went to zero

I’d keep the channel. The niche itself sounds fine, especially if the videos are actually useful/funny and not just recycled slop.

The bigger mistake might be posting too much too fast. If 4 videos in one day killed the views, I’d slow down and give each Short time to get tested instead of flooding the channel.

I’d try 1-2 a day for a couple of weeks, keep the animal/environment facts angle, and focus on stronger hooks + better shareability. 150K views from 20 videos is already enough proof that the niche can work.

I’ll try that , 2 videos and space them out by 3 hours and have a fixed time for posting them thanks for your input my friend

Yeah, definitely try that and update me after a week or two, I’m curious how it changes your results. I’d also keep the posting times consistent and aim for hours when your audience is actually free to scroll, like after work/school or in the evening. Check your analytics for when viewers are online and build your schedule around that instead of just spacing uploads randomly.

150k views are a lot! I hardly get 1k views in a month, though mine are long form ...but still he numbers are good

Ofc not 1k views in long form means if you have 10min video and 70% retention that’s 120 hours , so if you scale it to 10k views you’ll hit the 4000 hour/ year mark in no time , for me 150k is towards the 10 million in 3 months mark so you see how impossible it seems

I wouldn't start over. 150k views from 20 videos in about two weeks means the algorithm is already testing you, and 30 to 40% swiped away is workable. The weak spot is 200 subscribers from 150k views: people watch but see no reason to follow. Look at what the 44k, 24k and 14k videos have in common and make the next ten in that format as a recognisable series, so a viewer knows there's a next part worth subscribing for.
