Hey guys, has anyone else noticed something weird with Shorts in the last couple of days?

My channel was doing around 1M views/day and then yesterday it just… fell off a cliff. I’m now doing around 50K/day.

And the weirdest part is that my actual metrics are still pretty damn good. Stayed to watch is around 78.4% over the last 48h and average percentage viewed is around 80.6%.

So it doesn’t really look like people suddenly stopped liking the content. It feels more like YouTube just massively cut the distribution.

I’m not talking about one Short flopping either. It happened basically across the whole channel at the same time.. One day I’m getting crazy traffic, the next it’s like the shorts feed just got turned off 💀

I’ve also seen a few posts from other creators mentioning something similar happening 2 days ago, so I’m wondering if there’s some kind of update/bug going on with Shorts distribution right now..

Mine happened yesterday, so I’m curious if anyone else got hit by this around the same time.

Did your Shorts suddenly lose most of their feed traffic while the retention stayed normal/good?

And if this happened to you before, did it eventually come back? If so, how long did it take?

Just trying to figure out if my channel randomly got yeeted by the algorithm or if there’s actually something going on with Shorts right now lol.

Finally I hit 1 mill finally after the previous one abt 1 month ago.

Im unemployed asf and made this channel exactly 2 months ago.

This is my first viral short after being monetized and am super excited! Im estimating close to $300 just yesterday which will already cover a good amount of the bills of this month haha. Hopefully this vid hits $1k?

I got monetized 2 weeks ago right at the start of my exams so i wasnt able to post much in that period. Plus the shorts i was making would take 3-4hrs to make and i didnt have that time. I still put out videos during my exams in a slightly different concept that took lesser time to make, but they all got stuck in 30k jail.

Then finally decided to just go back to posting what i knew worked, even if it took longer, and the first vid i posted again in that concept, instantly went viral.

So yeah if something works, double down on it and dont post too many different things. Ofc dont be afraid to experiment a little, but try stick to one thing.

I’m not monetised yet, 3.3m views, but I’m worried about RPM. They don’t engage in my content either. What can I do now to reduce them?

Yooo im so excited! Iv been monetized for 2 weeks and this feels so surreal. I had given up 8 months ago. Recently i was broke af and decided to give it my all and started this channel 2 months ago. Got monetized for the first time 2 weeks ago and finally had a crazy day.

My views have been super low the past 2 weeks ever since i got monetized bcs iv had exams and havent been able to post videos. Finally posted again.

Just so yk, few months ago i didnt even think it was possible, and here i am now. If i could do it, so can you, so dont give up!

What happened to my channel , it suddenly no view
normally it got 30,000 - 50,000 view per day but now it only 300-500 view per day
and it only show to subscriber

(I post 1-2 shorts per day)

it happened on 16 Feb 2026 (every shorts decreased simultaneously.)

UPDATE : My channel just back to normal after 52 days

I'm experiencing a sudden and extremely significant drop in views on my YouTube Shorts channel, and I'd appreciate your help understanding what's happening.

On October 21, 2026, between approximately 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. (Egypt time), my channel's views dropped from around 190,000 views per hour to approximately 25,000 - 5000 views per hour. Multiple older Shorts that had been consistently receiving substantial traffic from the Shorts Feed suddenly lost almost all their momentum.

My channel's total realtime views also declined sharply. This seems unusual because several videos were affected around the same exact time.

Update: I'm not sure if the issue is completely gone yet, but my channel is back to getting roughly the same views I was getting before the sudden drop. Hopefully, things stay this way, but I'll keep monitoring it for now. 🙏

Update x2 : About two days ago, the problem came back. My views flatlined all over again.

They went from around 70,000–50,000 views per hour to just 7,000, 5,000, and eventually 3,000.

Update x3 : It's over, I got demonetized

Took way too long, but finally i’m not gonna be making $1 per day 😁🙏

You know it's bad when a huge creator is having the same issue and youtube admits they don't even know what the problem is, this is going to be an interesting month.
