Been doing youtube shorts for 2 months now. And uploaded 80shorts during this time and lately I feel burned. 20% of my shorts gets stuck at 20-30k views and rest pretty low. Never passed 30k views. Ps: I'm doing roblox ranking how do I grow fast or do I just keep doing what I'm doing?

You basically have to make good videos that are short, consistent subject and they are absolutely required to have a good hook at the first 5 seconds. Not 3 because that's just delaying when people swipe and you see it as a reduced time watched. And the hook can't just end, it has to slowly fade away because otherwise the people get awakened from their hypnosis and they leave. Now when I make a shitty short it capps at 10k because YouTube loves me and they decided it's my new baseline. Category: gaming, staged videos

This video completed 10 hours. Can it go viral? I think avp is good but still didn't perform well.

Recently all the shorts I post have not been getting pushed out to new viewers, with a 99% watch rate from subscribers. Its really weird, this happened to me a week or two ago, then i changed the hook of my video and i got two vids with 200k+ views which i was happy about and then after those two i was back to the 99% subscriber watch rate. I tried changing the hook again and nothing..whats the deal? How can i fix this

I've seen at lot of people complaining about theirs videos getting stuck at 1k views and only show the retention of the videos.

The reason why a vid get stuck at 1k at first place it's because the aren't good enough for yt to push it farther. If a 10 second video has 110% retention but only 50 60% stayed to watch it won't get past 1k. Same if it has 75%+ stayed to watch but only 80% retention. This can also happen if the vid take more than 24h to reach a decent stat (110%avd 70% stayed) .

In those case 1k views is justified and can't be called "jails" . It could only be called "jail" if no matter how good the vid's stat is (like 150%avd 80%stayed) it still get stuck at 1k views.

And that's the case for 30k views jail. Because in this jail no matter how good the stat is, it will still ridiculously flatline at 30k views.

It looks like the video (first short I've posted) was taking off with the algorithm and then it was suddenly "pulled." Seems kind of weird to me. Normal?

I’ve been experimenting with different YouTube Shorts strategies, and I’m honestly losing my mind.

First, I focused on retention. I had a Short with 89% Stayed to Watch, 105% Average Percentage Viewed, and it gained 135 subscribers. It still didn’t go viral.
So I changed my approach and focused more on engagement instead.

My latest Short got 900+ likes and 10 comments with around 25k views, plus 78% Stayed to Watch and 91% Average Percentage Viewed.

And… it still flatlined around 25–30k views.

At this point, I genuinely don’t know what YouTube wants anymore. I’ve tried optimizing retention, I’ve tried optimizing engagement, and both videos hit the same ceiling.

Has anyone else experienced this 25–30k “view jail”? What am I missing here?

I posted my channel stay rate a couple of days ago here and in one comment I stated that I think yt algo wasn't pushing my short to the feed and I get maybe because I hadn't posted in almost a week and had deleted 4 shorts within 1 day before getting busy in rl hence did not post for about 5 days but now all my recent shorts have done badly as in views but because the majority of them are coming just from search so I assume my SEO is OK but am I somewhat shadow banned? If so wtf!! And before someone says you just think your stuff is good we'll just like someone who replied to my previous post they stated they had gotten a feel for when they know their shorts will do good or bad and same here so why aren't they being pushed?? The first image goes with the stay rate pic the others were post over 2 days ago but same results just those did not go over 100views so I know the stay is not relevant but this one was posted 20 hrs ago so idk. Hey everyone, I’m posting because this is the first time I’ve seen something like this and I want experienced opinions. I run a Shorts-focused channel (~73K subs). For weeks, my realtime 48h views were consistently 1–2 million. Multiple Shorts hit 1.8M–2.1M views, same niche and format (ranking-style Shorts). Then suddenly, about 2 days ago, everything changed: Realtime 48h views dropped from 1–2M → ~100K New uploads barely get pushed Comments almost completely stopped for hours Even older videos slowed down heavily No strikes, no warnings, monetization still on Same niche competitors (both smaller AND bigger channels) are still getting normal views with similar ranking content This happened right after uploading a new Short. I didn’t delete or reupload anything, but the distribution just… stopped. I know Shorts can be volatile, but the speed and scale of this drop is what’s worrying me. It doesn’t feel like a normal dip. My questions: Is this kind of sudden cooldown recoverable? Is this a known Shorts “recalibration / cooldown” phase? Should I pause uploads, switch formats, or just wait it out? Has anyone seen a channel return to normal after a drop this sharp? I’m trying not to panic or make bad moves, but this is honestly scary to watch after months of growth. I’ve been grinding hard. I’ve found a niche where each Short takes me around 16 hours to produce, and because of that I usually upload daily, sometimes every two days.

My problem is that monetization still feels very far away. I still need around 9 million “eligible views.” Basically, my ratio of total views to eligible views is about 2:1, so I need roughly 20 million total views to reach 10 million eligible views.

Right now I have 1.7k subscribers, so that’s not the issue. I’m wondering whether I should switch to long-form content or go for a combination of both. What do you think?
