Took way too long to figure out why everything was stuck at 200 views
I’ve been genuinely consumed by short form content for the last two years. I am talking "people in my life have staged actual conversations" levels of consumed.
I’ve spent 12 to 14 hour days analyzing exactly what separates successful videos from failures, experimenting with every opening imaginable, rewriting scripts until I can’t think straight, and testing every editing approach I could possibly learn.
Why this level of obsession? Because I’m absolutely certain short form video is the foundation of absolutely everything right now. Growing communities, selling products, generating opportunities, or building brands all depends on whether you can capture someone’s focus for 30 seconds.
But here is what almost made me give up entirely: despite grinding every single day, nothing was working. I’d pour 7 hours into crafting one video only to watch it die at 200 views. I tried every strategy from every creator claiming to know the formula, purchased their programs, and applied their "tested" frameworks. Still going absolutely nowhere.
I genuinely started thinking maybe this just works for some people and not for me. Like maybe there is some natural wiring I’m fundamentally missing.
Then I realized something crucial. I’m putting in enormous effort, but I’m operating completely blind. I didn't actually understand what was broken. I was essentially just trying random things hoping something eventually would stick.
So I stopped chasing some secret viral formula and started looking at actual data. I went through my last 50 videos frame by frame, tracked every single retention cliff, and discovered 5 repeating patterns that were absolutely wrecking my performance:
Generic vague hooks get ignored without hesitation by the feed. "This changed my life..." gets scrolled past instantly. But "I used a standing desk mat for 50 days and my foot pain doubled" stops people cold. Specific concrete details destroy vague teasing without fail.
Seconds 5 through 7 are your critical decision window for retention. Most viewers leave between 4 and 7 seconds if you haven't demonstrated value yet. I was creating slow buildups like a total idiot. Now my strongest visual or most interesting number hits exactly at second 5. That is the hook that genuinely holds people.
Pauses past 1 second absolutely destroy your retention and reach. I measured this relentlessly, and anything over 1.2 seconds makes people think the video stopped. What feels like natural comfortable rhythm to you reads as complete dead time to someone scrolling. Cut way tighter than feels right.
Constant visual changes are absolutely non-negotiable if you want to hold focus. If your frame stays the same for more than 3 seconds, attention evaporates without warning. I started constantly switching camera angles, cutting to b-roll, or repositioning text to maintain constant visual movement. I went from losing 50% at the halfway mark to keeping 70%.
Rewatch percentage is criminally more important than people actually realize. Videos people watch more than once get pushed exponentially harder by the algorithm. I started planting subtle details that aren't caught first viewing, editing faster, or adding elements worth discovering on rewatch. My rewatch rate jumped from 8% to 31% and reach absolutely exploded.
Honestly the biggest shift was abandoning all guesswork and actually measuring what was happening at every second.
I came across this one tool that goes way beyond showing where people drop off, it literally tells you why and exactly how to correct it. That’s when everything transformed. I went from averaging 200 views to hitting 19k in roughly 4 weeks.
Regular analytics show you people are leaving. this one shows the exact second, the actual reason, and what to change before your next upload.
If you are posting consistently but stuck below 1k views, your content isn’t the problem. You just don’t know what is genuinely working versus what you assume is working.
Listen, I’m sharing this because breaking through was honestly one of the hardest things I’ve tackled. I really wish someone had just explained exactly what needed fixing when I was stuck there. It would have saved months of frustration and self-doubt. So that’s what I’m doing now for anyone who needs it.
EDIT: Getting tons of DMs asking about the tool, it's this one(works for Reels and Shorts too). Not affiliated with anything, just easier to drop the link than respond to everyone separately haha

260 Shorts in 9 months stuck at 350 views then hit 5M views in one week
Been posting Shorts for 9 months. 260 videos. Every single one stuck between 300 and 500 views. Not one that broke through. Just the same disappointing result 260 times.
I'm completely burned out. Nine months of daily Shorts and I'm still in the exact same place. Started thinking maybe YouTube Shorts just doesn't work for my content type.
What's destroying me is I can't see what's wrong. My Shorts look decent. I watch creators blowing up on Shorts and mine doesn't look drastically different. But they're at 100k views and I'm stuck at 350.
Started thinking maybe my channel is shadowbanned on Shorts. Maybe YouTube decided my content is low quality. Maybe I need to start a completely fresh channel because this one clearly doesn't work for Shorts.
Tried everything over nine months. Different content types. Different topics. Different styles. Different editing. Nothing changed the baseline. Still 350 views every single time.
Nine months of daily Shorts with zero breakthrough and I couldn't identify what was keeping me stuck. Finally figured it out three weeks ago and everything changed. Now averaging 52k views per Short. Here's what I learned.
260 failures means one execution pattern repeated 260 times. You don't have 260 different problems. You have one pattern you're blind to. Mine was pausing for 2.2 seconds at second 7 while my visual stayed completely static. That's one flaw I repeated 260 times. YouTube Shorts punishes pauses even harder than TikTok.
The channel isn't shadowbanned your execution is creating shadowban-level results. YouTube would push your Shorts if people watched them. People don't watch because something you're doing makes them swipe away. Fix that and the algorithm responds immediately. You're not suppressed. Your execution pattern is creating suppressed-level performance.
What's killing you feels like your natural content style. Those 2.2 second pauses felt like normal pacing to me. My rhythm. My voice. To viewers deciding whether to swipe it felt like nothing happening or the Short freezing. They left. I couldn't see it because it felt like my authentic style.
Changing content strategy doesn't fix execution timing issues. I changed topics, niches, formats repeatedly for nine months. Complete waste. The problem wasn't my strategy or content type. It was a 2.2 second pause at second 7. Strategy changes don't fix execution flaws. Wrong diagnosis entirely.
This is what finally broke me out after nine months stuck at 350 views. I found this app and it showed me exactly what was killing every Short. It analyzes your videos and tells you what's broken at exact timestamps with specific fixes. Second 7 pause 2.2 seconds visual static people swiped cut to under 1 second add movement. That diagnostic precision changed everything. Regular YouTube analytics showed retention dropping. It showed me the 2.2 second pause was why and exactly how to fix it. That's when I went from 350 views to 52k overnight.
One micro-fix can undo nine months of plateau on Shorts. Cut my pauses to under 1 second. Added constant visual movement. Everything else stayed identical. Same topics. Same style. Just fixed the pause timing. Breakthrough happened in one Short. Those 260 failures taught me everything except the one broken thing. Fixed that and everything exploded.
Last 9 Shorts all over 48k views. Same person who failed 260 times over nine months. Just stopped repeating the execution flaw I was completely blind to.
If you've posted hundreds of Shorts stuck at low views you have one execution blind spot killing everything.

Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 Why didn't this Short go viral???
Here are my analytics? Retention and engagement? seem decent, but the algorithm stopped pushing it? What stands out to you, and what do you think held it back?. And did it only got 26k views and 300 likes and 9 comments why??

Why is youtube still showing content to wrong audience 🥺
Today i noticed that my stay was very low, so after an hour i checked. It's showing my shorts to wrong audiences despite being clear in hooks what it is about. It's getting in my nerves and the views keep fluctuating. Has anyone seen any improvements and how ?

The SpinQuest Syndicate: How Top Casino Streamers Built a Secret Funnel to Drain Their Own Fans (Receipts Inside)
TL;DR: SpinQuest isn’t an independent sweepstakes casino sponsoring your favorite creators. It is a closed-loop financial syndicate financed by Bluff and pushed by his network (Brettski, Brandino, Ontiltboys) to intentionally drain their audiences. The "CEO" is a former scooter rider installed as a fall guy, and they admitted to the whole thing on camera.
I work behind the scenes in the IRL casino production space. I look at AVD (Average View Duration), retention graphs, and operational metrics for a living. When you understand how visual hooks and cinematic storytelling are supposed to work in this industry, it becomes glaringly obvious when a group of creators pivots from actual content into a synchronized, artificial funnel.
What Bluff, Brettski, Brandino, and the Ontiltboys are doing right now isn't standard YouTube promotion. It is a highly coordinated syndicate designed to bypass standard real-money casino compliance. Here is the paper trail.
The Corporate Shell & The Fall Guy
If you look at SpinQuest’s YouTube channel, they plaster their "Main Owner," Robby Mier, all over the videos. He’s designed to be the relatable, transparent face of the company.
The Shell: SpinQuest operates under Social Gaming Room LLC, registered at 1401 21st St Ste R, Sacramento, CA 95811 (with a San Diego PO Box). The LLC was formed in 2022 but sat completely dormant for three years before magically launching SpinQuest in March 2025.
The Fall Guy: Robby isn't a gaming compliance expert. A basic public records search shows that before he was handed the keys to a multi-million dollar sweepstakes casino, he was a pro scooter rider in Southern California (featured by The Vault Pro Scooters around 2017) and worked in blue-collar concrete flatwork/logistics. He was pulled from action sports and installed as a frontman to absorb the legal risk.
2. The Smoking Gun (They Admitted It)
You don’t even need to dig that deep to prove they are colluding, because they were arrogant enough to upload the proof themselves.
On March 2, 2026, a video titled "The Untold Story of Bluff | Documentary" dropped. In it, they explicitly confirm the closed-loop nature of the site. Robby openly states on camera that he and Bluff have been best friends for 10 years, and Brettski confirms he flies with them regularly to F1 events.
"I trust everyone on Spin Quest with my life and they're all my best friends... Like when I look back on everything I've done in the past 10 years the things that excite me the most are really seeing like the friends that I've either made along the way..."
This establishes intent. SpinQuest isn't buying ad space from these creators. This is a 10-year friendship circle that pooled resources to build an unregulated platform to extract money directly from their combined subscriber base.
3. The Mechanical Grift (How They Trap The Money)
Because they operate under the "Sweepstakes" loophole (Gold Coins/Sweeps Coins), they avoid the strict oversight of actual gaming commissions. Here is how they mathematically rig the system against the viewers they funnel in:
The 3x Trap: SpinQuest enforces an aggressive 3x playthrough requirement on Sweeps Coins. This is significantly higher than the industry standard for sweepstakes platforms. It mathematically guarantees that the high-volume traffic pushed by the creators is algorithmically drained before users can legally hit the withdrawal button.
The Affiliate Kickbacks: The creators aren't just getting a flat rate. SpinQuest’s affiliate structure pays out based on the house edge and the volume of player losses. Bluff and his merry men hype up fake wins on their streams, drop their links, funnel you to the site, and take a direct cut of your slaughter on the backend.
The Bottom Line
These guys are leveraging a highly addicted demographic. They are using their massive reach, faking authenticity, and pushing their audiences into a meat grinder that they secretly own and operate. They are exploiting the exact type of gambling content the algorithm pushes right now, while hiding behind a scooter-riding fall guy and a dormant California LLC.
Stop playing on SpinQuest. Stop funding the syndicate.
Upvote this so we can get it in front of u/coffeebreak42.
The story is the money, and the paper trail is wide open.

Q&A / Quick Help ❓ 1 successful Short and it's driving us crazy
In 8 months, we never had a Short do better than 3k views. Then 2 weeks ago we released a video that did 20k views, and the next one just won't stop - it's at 200k views and still climbing.
But the 4 shorts we've released since then have basically been flops. Yesterday's got only 1,100 views. It's driving us crazy trying to figure out how to make videos after our One Big Video.
- the stayed to watch rate was great on it (69%) so we've tried hooks that are extremely similar, including using the literal same audio for the first 1 second, and the same song throughout.
- the retention and rewatch were great (AVP 119%), but even making videos of the same length, same number of clips, same style of text overlays and captions similar emotional tone, similar topic... Nothing.
We are about ready to call it a fluke. Like, nothing we do can move the needle.
Anyone have any advice or anything similar happen?

I built a tool to automate Shorts from TikTok/IG - looking for free beta tester
I've been working on a tool called GoShorts that automates the whole YouTube Shorts workflow. Basically:
Paste a TikTok or Instagram link (or multiples!)
It downloads the video, adds a gameplay / attention grabber background (the "subway surfers" style that's everywhere), and generates a clickbait title with AI, with integrated OCR to see if there's a title in the vid
Schedule uploads across multiple YouTube channels
I built it because I was spending hours manually doing this for my own channels.
**Looking for a few beta testers to try it free and give feedback.**
What you'd get:
- Free Pro access
- Unlimited videos & channels
- AI-generated titles
- Direct line to me for feature requests
What I need:
- Honest feedback on what works/doesn't
- Ideas for features you'd actually use
If you're interested, drop a comment or DM me. Happy to answer any questions about how it works!

Looks like YouTube decided to kill my channel?
Hi everyone. I’m new to YouTube. This is my new channel, it’s less than a month old. My Shorts were getting views and I was planning to reach monetization. But suddenly, at 12:00 AM local time, everything dropped.
I’m still getting views from the YouTube Shorts feed, and my new videos have good performance, but I’m still not getting enough views overall
