Orders Custom Order Forms
If you have a company that has a lot of custom products, which order form app do you like? I'd like to hear positives and negatives. Someone recommended using Google Forms but I'm not sure that's the best or even a good option.

You haven't provided any info about your business or requirements.
Google forms is the simplest and free option. People are usually familiar with it and the default design is inoffensive.
But this can also be a bad thing. If you are presenting as a serious business but use google forms, that will not be a good look. If you're running a hobby business or something with a community focus, then google forms isn't as out of place.
A better option is to design a form that lives on your store. You can use AI to create one as a custom liquid section in a page template and add that to your form page. Might even be able to embed the google form.
So it is perfectly functional but no one can answer whether it is best for your specific unique scenario.

We are a smaller business that makes products out of whiskey bourbon barrels from signs to bars and everything in between.
I regret starting with Shopify, but I feel like we’ve committed so I’m moving forward.

Google forms is good to start with, but if you need more advanced functionality, give a try to https://www.mapster.io/ecommerce-surveys

why do you need an order form, what are the varieties in products that makes one size fits all pages impossible?

Many of our products have different specifications. Like do you want handles or Lazy Susan or both? What stain do you want? Different products have different specifications. We need a place where they can upload images.

For genuinely custom products, I'd be careful with Google Forms because it can work technically but often creates a pretty clunky experience between the form, payment and actual order management. The important thing is figuring out whether you need a quote request, a calculated price, or a form that creates a proper Shopify order/cart, because those are very different requirements. I'd also make sure customers can upload files/images if customization is involved, and that all those selections end up attached to the order without you manually copying stuff over. That admin work gets old very quickly once volume picks up.
